What kind of performance do you guys get from .22 cal Gamo's? Velocity, accuracy, and with what kind of ammo?
I believe my .177 Shadow rebarrel to .22 has worked out reasonably well, but I just wanna compare notes.
Also, anyone stick a Macarri spring in a .22? If so, what did it do for it?

I am just doing a tune on a New Shadow Supreme for a customer, and with a JM spring and a 50 gram Brass top hat it is averaging 685 so after a good break in it should do 700's not to bad for a gamo .22.

Ya Rich, I have two of the Gamo .22's. I just did a chrony on the Shadow Supreme .22 yesterday. From memory the FPS was: 693, 697, 704, 710, 683, 698, 692....... So you are right about the FPS. The Shadow Supreme .22 is quite accurate and I am using RWS Superdomes.
Now my CFX Royal .22 is a different story. :) It is the one I got from UK. I put it on the chrony yesterday and I was getting readings from the low 200 fps up to low 700's. I have not shot this one much since CDT and I changed out the spring and did a Turbo Tune. Maybe only put 50 pellets through it. I think it has been sitting for about 4 months now. That may be the reason for the weird numbers..:)
All in all the Shadow Supreme .22 does very well and hold a tight variation.

Now that you mention it, that happens to me, too sometimes.... a few shots will read impossibly low (by half or so), and then it jumps up to normal. Yet when I shoot the gun for any length of time, it's obvious that the rifle itself isn't varying drastically like that.
I also notice it seems to happen less if I'm a little further away from the chrony. I always chalked it up to gremlins....

LOL Vince, I had thought it was a grimlin also. hehehe

720's with Crosman Premier Hollow Points.
BTW - am I mistaken, or do they seem to be one of the best .22 pellet bargains out there? Pyramidair sells tins of 500 for $6 - buy 3, get one free - works out to about $4.50 per tin. That's cheaper than Midsouth's price for Gamo Hunters, and a tiny, tiny bit less than their price for Gamo Match... and I find this pellet to be more consistent than the Gamo's.

My Black Shadow .22 shoots extremely well and accurately. It loves Superdomes, RWS Super Hollow Points and the Predator pellets I use for hunting. I just got a chrony last week but haven't set it up yet, but as soon as I do I'll post some numbers. My gun is all stock, but I have to say it's one of my favorite guns, especially to hunt with. So light, comfortable and accurate. I only wish I had bought another one before they became unavailable. If I run across another one I'd snap it up in a heart beat.

Ive had my .22 supreme for a few months now and it is my favorite hunting rifle. I shot it over the weekend with RWS s-h points, CPL HP, Crowmags and Gamo hunters. It shoots them all decent but I settled on Crowmags for the knockdown power. I was using RWS s-h points but they did not do the job as well as I like. I sighted it in at 30 yrds and it is right on at 10 and 30, 1/2 high at 20 and 1 1/2 low at 40. At 30 yds and less it tears one solid hole at each distance with 10 shots but at 40 it opens up to about and 1 1/4 or so, which is probably me more than the gun. Btw it was shooting Rws sh points at 730 and crowmags at 650. All other pellets were in between. I really like my B26-2 .22 but the shadow is more powerful and accuracy is about the same.

.
I love mine.
I've gone over to the dark side, but I've kept the ShadowSupreme.
With CtD'd trigger and turbotune, it's fun to shoot. I had to put about a pound of lead [old pellets in a plastic bag] to get it to balance better, now it's great.
It's nice to shoot, and by that I mean I can hit the 1" 10-ring at 30 yards on the 1st shot most of the time. I use MeisterKugeln's for the clean targets they give, and at 30 yards they still go true.
