I had some free time this afternoon so I took some guns out of my gun safes that I haven't shot in a while. One of the guns I took out was my TF-89 .22 cal...
I've had the rifle sighted in with different pellets at different times and got very good results,,,, provided I don't sit at my shooting bench cause for some reason my gun just does not like it when I sit at the shooting bench and shoot groups. When I do that with the rifle it suddenly becomes very hold sensitive on me ,,,, but if I shoot offhand it groups great.
Well, today I decided to try some JSB Exacts,,, I believe they're 15.9 gr or something like that. Anyway,,,, all I can say is I just fell in love with this rifle. The rifle was shooting the exacts with amazing accuracy, ragged hole groups at 30 yards but the thing that really got me excited was that it did this while I was sitting shooting from my shooting bench. This rifle never did well with any pellet from my shooting bench,,,, so,,,, to make a long story short after quite a long time and ALOT of different pellets, I've finally found a pellet that both the rifle and I agree on.
I can't believe how accurately it's shooting, I love it,,,, and with the power that this rifle has it just makes it better. I know I'm going on and on but I'm really excited about this cause I've been going round and round with this gun and I finally have success. Like I said,,, it always did fine as long as I was just shooting offhand, which is fine cause I certainly don't hunt from my shooting bench,, but it always just frustrated me that I could not get it to shoot good from the bench. I'm really glad the me and the gun have finally come to terms :)
Now I gotta take her out hunting to reward her !!

I figured out to hole her but I bet its not over yet.
Best of luck in the field with her.

That's funny, I've been shooting the snot out of my TF89 because I just got it. Any case, I've been using Exact Diablo's also and they work really well. I've been searching to see which pellets are good for this gun, and at which weight. Everyone seems to say the CP are the best at 14.3g. But I want a deadly pellet for the tree rats. So I am thinking of ordering some Predators, maybe some crow Mag's, some more Exacts, and RWS Super H instead of CP or Benj Hollow points because they weigh the same and RWS are allot better quality the Crossman.

eh...the cp's are prettygood...i would also get a tin of em. how is the gun doin for ya, rob?
jeff, glad to know you found its secret stuff...can't wait to see what you take with it!

Doing alot better since I adjusted the trigger to my liking. It hits hard and is easy to hold and shoot.

My Beeman RS 2. Which is the same gun is deadly accurate withe Cp's and the Predator.both shoot to the same poi. The rws superdome is next then the rws hp. In 22 it hits hard.

Congratulation's Jeff...:) I knew you would not give up on that TF-89..:) When you bought it you had bought a few others around that time and was shooting them and your others allot because like you said you were having some issues with shooting at the bench and pellet preference. Good to hear that buddy, cause I know that TF-89 is one heck of a good shooter and can be very accurate as well.
I started off with Superdomes, then had better luck with CP's. Last spring I started using the AirArms Pellets and they work fantastic as well. At 25 to 30 yards I get ragged holes with no problem.
Sure makes me happy that you found the right pellet...:)
Thanks Jeff for sharing buddy.

Air Arms pellets are made by JSB so there's not much to tell between them & the Exacts.
They look & weigh near enough the same.
Seem to go well in most guns & in the Uk, at least, are often the starting point in the search to find best pellet for your gun.
Indeed, it's often a v.short search. LOL

Just Bought some Daisy .22 cal flate nose at Walmart. $2.99 for 250 count. Thought I would give them a shot. Not too bad, pretty accurate so far. They dont look very uniform, and kind of have some of the coating comming off of them, but dont shoot to bad for $3!!

I stock up on those Daisy flat nosed .22's everytime Walmart has them in stock. Last time I bought every tin they had (15 of em). Those things shoot amazingly out of a couple of my chinese shooters and are deadly on birds and close in tree rats....... and for the price ya can't beat em......
I never thought about trying them in my TF-89 but I'm gonna give em a try and see how they fly......

She's on the money buddy, looking forward to some harvest from you and her. :) Ed

I used them to break in my RS-2 which is the same gun. Plus they were the only thing they had at Walmart when I bought the gun. They worked very well but they are a bit dirty. Accurate and they hit the squirell hard. I am in the process of building a spring compressor so I can tune the gun. Any advice would be helpful thanks.

I did some shooting through my TF-89. Used RWS super Hpoints, Crosman Prem Hollow points, and Predators. I shot each target 5 times from approx 8 yards away. I was inside my house, and sitting on my sofa using the sofa backrest at a stand, but still holding the rifle with both hands. So It was not at a rest, but not totally unassisted, check out the pics. Predators performed the best by far... (http://img213.imageshack.us/img213/5276/img1662fy0.jpg)
