: How far would/do you go

How far would/do you go to go hunting? I'm not talking about shooting in your backyard/property. I realize that many of you are fortunate in that way ( I used to be until I moved). How far is too far to drive to airgun hunt. I ask this because I am going to work on securing permission to hunt on private property. One of our customers family owns 2 commercial sheep feedlots with 10's of thousands sheep. They are huge. I learned from one of our delivery drivers that they have a pidgeon problem. He was waiting to get unloaded when a "boom, boom, boom" startled him. A couple of the hired hands were shooting at the pidgeons near the silo's/elevator with shotguns. There is also rats in and around the bunk feeders too. So IF (big word here) I were lucky enough to get permission, I would have to drive between 30 to 35 miles one way. The price of gas has gone down considerably recently, making such trips more feasable. Would you do it?
Regards
Nathan

35mi. is nothing!  Get over there now!!  hehehe
Pigeons & rats are a lot of fun to shoot.  I would travel farther if I had permission to exercise pest control on private property or farm that has a pest problem.

Nathan, anytime you can get a quality huntin' place and still sleep in your own bed at night is a real bargain.

That is prime hunting ground and where there's feed for livestock, there's critter's for hunting. :) Some of the property that I hunt is about 25mi. away from me and even if I don't bring home dinner it's still great to get out and just take in Ma Nature. :) Ed

An hour each way with traffic? Wouldn't think twice. If successful, safe, and polite, you'd probably get access to other farms in the area with similar issues, if you work it a little. Golden opportunity.

Hell most people drive that far to work. I'm driving 4 hours to hunt the first weekend in February so you distance would be great.

Everyone.  I will start talking with Levi next time I see him and try to start the ball rolling. Hopefully I will be able to sell him on how a responsible person with an airgun could help out with his pest control. I don't know if he can grant me permission or if I need that from his father. I'll keep you informed
Best Regards

Same here!  30 miles...no problem.  I hope it works out for you!  Sounds like prime hunting grounds!
