Ok I have my new aa s400 fac comming tomorrow and i have been reading about the heavy enjun pellets and others.. what is the heavyest pellet i should use in this gun.. its not a springer so I don't have to worry about bustin a spring, but its also not a condor or a talon.. I would luv to plug a critter with the big load.. what ya think...

Heavy pellets out of a PCP will not hurt it at all. Best bet is to find a pellet that shoots well out of your gun then shoot it. A few that have worked well in the other S400/S410's that I've shot are JSB Exacts and Beeman Kodiaks. The Kodiaks are a pretty heavy pellet and should give you plenty of smack at the target. I think Dave Dunn has tried the heavy Korean pellets in his S400E with decent results, but he can comment on that. My S400C really likes the Kodiaks, but shoots JSB's and Crosman Premiers fairly well also....haven't tried the Koreans, my 12fpe gun wont push them at a halfway decent speed. Since the o-ring in an S4XX series gun is inside the breach instead of on the bolt probe the Koreans may tend to drag across it, but you should be able to feel if the gun is hard to close.

I was out last night with the Career shooting Eunjin's for the first time though it.
they worked great 3 bunnys down.
but what I did notice is that I had use the full power setting but with preditors at 16grs
I can set it at 900fps and get more shots from a fill.
The Eunjin's at 29grs just didn't do it at longer distances at the 900fps setting.
But the Evanix AR6 likes nothing ealse but Eunjin's

Thats what i was wondering,, I have been eye ballin the heavy enjuns , but I guess those are just for the condors and stuff... I will get me a selection of heavy's and see what it will do... this is my first 28 fpe gun and i am excited about what i can do with her...

28 fpe yes you mite be best staying under 20grs
mine are 45fpe Career & 65fpe Evanix

Like Dan said, my S400E likes the EJ's just fine, they average 873 fps for about 27 fpe. And that's in a .177! Accuracy is excellent, too. Check the Classifieds, that rifle is currently for sale and I included a chrony spreadsheet and graph in my ad. Your is a .22, isn't it? If you want to try some out without having to order a whole tin, let me know, I think I still have some .22 EJ's on hand, I'd be happy to send you some. Later.

JQ:
I don't know much about heavy pellets, but I can tell you that at at the 3/4ths power setting, the AA S410 will shoot either CPL's or Beeman FTS on a very flat trajectory out to about 40 yards, maybe further, and either will absolutely flip a squirrel or a rabbit at that setting. I can't see that I will need anything heavier. I haven't yet got to shoot over the chrony to get some hard numbers, but I seemed to be able to shoot ragged holes at 25 yards with either pellet using any power setting from half to full power. More shots on half power, obviously. But looks like I will get around 60 shots at 3/4ths power with either pellet and no serious degradation of the pattern, at least at the 25 yard mark.
