I haven't been out hunting of late, been to busy with fixin stuff around the house to make the wife happy and running around getting ready for the holidays but,,,,,,,, the other day I installed a
GRT III trigger in my GAMO 1250 .22 and now can't wait to take it out and chase some bushytails.
I've taken squirrels before with my 1250, it shoots JSB Predators dead on and really does a number on squirrels but, due to the stiff factory trigger, in order to shoot it accurately I have to really concentrate on trigger control when firing. I mean really concentrate ! If I don't the shots go astray, usually to the right. For target shooting where I have the time to sit there, take my time and concentrate, that was fine, but I bought the gun to hunt with and when I'm in the woods and see a squirrel racing through the tree tops my heart starts to race just as fast as the nutter is running while I'm waiting for him to momentarily stop and offer a shot. With all the excitement and adrenaline pumping, when that squirrel does stop and offer a shot I just want to be able to put the gun up and instinctively fire. The factory trigger just wasn't conducive for that, at least not for me.
Well, with the first shot after I installed the GRT III I knew my 1250 trigger problems were over. I took it out to the backyard to test fire it, make sure it was still zero'd in, and also to make sure I installed the trigger blade correctly. All I can say is "Oh My Goodness" my 1250 has been transformed !! The trigger is an absolute dream. Beautiful light, crisp pull that has turned my 1250 into a much easier rifle to shoot accurately. I put up a target and shot two ten shot groups. Both groups were dead center bullseye. Like I said above, I shot groups like this with the factory trigger but this time 2 things were different. #1: I didn't have to sit there and intensely concentrate on the trigger to feel when it was going to fire,,, and #2: the group sizes were a little tighter and no flyers at all (with the factory trigger I could always tell if I didn't squeeze the trigger just right cause I'd get a clean pellet hole about 1 - 2 inches to the right of the group).
What a pleasure to shoot the 1250 now, except of course for the effort required to cock the thing. I'm really looking forward to taking the gun out for a hunt with the new trigger, it's definately made the gun a better hunting tool, now I just have to do my part and aim true. I'll make sure I post the pictures (if I score) and the hunt details.

Thanks Jeff...I knew that whenever you got around to putting one in that you would see the huge difference. For the true hunter/springer shooter, the ergonomics of the GRT-III trigger makes all the difference in the world in the shooting/firing cycle.
