I might add: Many of these guns are returned by folks that quite frankly had no idea of how springers "behave",, thus many are basicly new guns. Some are indeed "refirbs". And some do have as stated,, minor blemishes. IMO most of them are bargains. And,,, while they state "no warranty",,, I know of several cases where they still "took care" of guns that had problems. Glen is a great Guy to deal with. The folks at Umarex have come along way in the customer support part of thier buisness,, I salute them. "Diana Fan Tim."

Tim: You are correct about Glen. He is very friendly and helpful. Umarex is very helpful with solving customers problems. When I called them about the 30mm scope mounts...they told me about the new design, and replacement mount...and sold me a couple. They are the "lock down" mounts, using two pins, and four screws. Glen also told me a "rebuild" on any of their old out of warranty old guns is $89. That is a deal, for they will replace the mainspring, and bring the gun up to spects. Diana truely threw down her old bow...and took up a powerful spring gun!

Great guys, I spoke with Glen several times. As there is no warranty, look the rifle over very close when you get it. He told me if there is a immediate problem, they would fix it. When asking for your rifle, as him if they have any marked aa+. that means its in great cosmetic shape. My RWS48 was mint. Great guy and great rifles.

And I stand by my words. The last couple of dealings I had with Umarex were a pleasure. I see you state they will "Rebuild" an out of warranty Diana for $89. "replace spring & bring back to specs." (Im assuming that would have to be seals ect) My first thought was,,,,WOW!! thats a GREAT price!! HMMMM,,,, for just a few bucks more,,, you could get the same,, PLUS,,, a PROFESIONAL tune (night & day,, trust me) I doubt they (Umarex) are going to "de bur",, mill custom guides & other possible parts,, hone/cross hatch,,apply the PROPER lubes in MANY differant areas of the gun (VERY important),,pre/post test,, & treat your gun like they were taking it home to put it on thier gun rack.:o Now,, I just finised laying praise to Umarex a few minutes ago,,, I stand by my comments. $89???? I personally would spend a few more bucks & send my gun to a well known tuner. I recomend Gene Curtis,, I have seen the attention to detail & the "love" he puts into his work. Besides,,, his "teacher" is an Icon in the airgun world,,,,We all miss Ya "Mr Bob" (CDT),,,enjoy your retirement Buddy!!8) Sorry Umarex,,,, Im not here to win any popularity contests,, I just call it as I see it,,& HONESTLY give the best advice I can, to help others that enjoy this hobby/addiction!!LOL!!:p Tim.

i have a question in general about US prices
are these without tax or something? i'm just curious, because i paid more than twice as much for my 34.
if 150$ is the final price...damn...that thing is cheap as dirt. no wonder why so few people own PCPs here where i live, they cost a fortune. for example the Benjamin Discovery costs 530$ (400 eu) without pump or any additional adapters. the complete kit would be around 650$ or more.
edit: ups my mistake...haven't read the whole post :)
-
Mike,,, sounds like your prices are just about double. (Based on your Disco price,,,,,not the refirbs from Umarex). Where you at Buddy?? Tim.
-
In central Europe...but frankly these prices are almost the same everywhere in Europe. we're so getting ripped off by all these taxes on stuff.
-
We have only one RWS/Diana distributor in Canada.....so those airguns are expensive....no competition. For example, a brand new 34 is about $450.00
-
Buy the "blemished", and out of warranty air rifle from RWS...their price includes shipping. But I don't know what it would involve shipping one out of the US. (costs, permits, Tax)

I just purchesed one of Umarex's RWS Model 54 Demos, I also purchesed the XLR 2 kit from Jim Maccari, Glenn sold me the Model 54 and installed the Xlr 2 kit that I had JM ship right to him. Not counting the Xlr 2 kit, Glenn sold me the Model 54 and installed the kit in the gun for me and the total price delivered to my door is only #319.00 delivery should be either Tuesday or Wednesday of next week but no later then 2/25/09. I had the kit installed seeing it was a Demo, and to have his Gun Smith install it in the shop was a pluss, all I wanted to do was to make sure the complete power chamber was all brand new when I recieve it. I could not pass up the deal Glenn and I worked out. All I can say if he can bend over backwards and help you out he will. Like I said I could not pass up the deal, for a RWS Side Lever with a floating barel system. When it arrives, at least the power chamber will be brand new and unfired except by his gun smith to make what ever adjustments he had to make if any, and that every thing functions as it was designed to do. No I just have to add the rest of the toys to it like a new leapers scope rail and a scope and I will be good to go. I figured it was a good idea to have the insides replaced, and what better place then right in the same shop that services them out every day of the week, it at least saved me the trouble of rebuilding it my self.

For the record, I bought an RWS5G P5 Magnum from Umarex as an "R" version, that developed a problem almost immediately. This was before the recall announcement, but it occasionally fired on closing the barrel, which is a really bad trait in an airgun, and hard on the carpet. On the phone, they first implied I had messed with the trigger adjustments (I had not, although it was set pretty light out of the box) but they quickly authorized me to return it.
They turned it around fast, and it was perfect, and has never had the issue again, nor any other problems. Since it was not long before the recall, I suspect mine may have had the issue, and they knew what to do about it in the field. The gun was a good deal and is an excellent shooter. I would buy anotherdemo from Umarex, but I would definitely give it a very thorough inspection and shooting immediately upon receipt.

I just got off the phone with one of the techs (Ryan) at Umarex [ (479) 646 4210 x71 is correct ]. Out the door quote on RWS 34 .22 wood stock, no scope $130 shipped!
