It is not latching. Is this something I can fix? It released once while I was cocking and now nothing it won't hold. Charlie (AKA BOB) help me out!!
-
Is it a new rifle?
has anything been done to it? , like tune or something else.
have you had the stock off for any reason?
-
I have had two exp with this.
1. My cfx didnt latch because i was installing a trigger mod I bought from charlie. I reinstalled everything and it latched.
2. Second time it didnt latch was because of my spring, it broke.
Hope this helps.

Rich, I shot you an e-mail. It has been tuned and has a new trigger. It was shooting great until right before it wouldn't cock. Although now that I think about it, it was making the same type of sound when I broke the last spring. (I have broken 2) is there something inside that could lend itself to breaking springs?
-
Hey Chuck
What gr pellet you shooting in your CFX. Springs should not fail like that.

I've only had two springs break; B22 after about 500 shots, and my HW77k after about 3000 shots, in both cases the rifle would not cock.

Gene, I shoot only cpl's 7.9 out of this one. I sent it off to Bob to have him look at it. I may have an interna l problem. How come you never feel s pring break? or hear it? does it break when being fired?
-
Well Chuck, I have been very fortunate with my springers. Never had a spring break or a major problem. I would not know the answer to your question either..:) Bob could give you that answer. hehe

I could tell with my B22 that something happened during the shot cycle, it sounded very different on the shot that the spring broke, then the rifle wouldn't cock because of the bulk of the spring binding with the short piece that broke off. My 77k was different, didn't sound any different, but suddenly the rifle wouldn't cock. I think it depends on where the spring breaks, and how much breaks off. The B22 spring had 4 or 5 coils break off, and the 77k only lost 2 coils. HTH,

I have the same symptoms. I took my rifle out after sitting for about 2 weeks. (been busy with work and school) I tryed to cock it and it about hit me in the face. The sear didnt catch at all. Then a few more trys and it caught, gun seemed to fire fine. Now it wont engage at all. For awhile while I was shooting it, it had a weird metallic ping to it. Never shot very heavy pellets out of it at all, around 8.2 grains. But I have put maybe 2,000 rounds through this gun already.
Any conclusions, an additional gun with a busted spring, maybe??
-
I would count on a busted spring, just sent mine off to BOB (AKA Charlie da TUna)
-
Yep...you can just about bet that it's a broken spring and probably broken about the third or fourth coil from the top.
-
Seems to me like Bob is going to be very busy after the first of the year.
-
I'm always pretty busy but your right about being busy after the first of the year. It seems that the guys send them out more when it's cold because they don't use them as much and want them ready when winter bows out. And if I get too busy, I have a guy that helps me out with the cleaning and preping so it's not too bad.
