: How good was the B20 really??
: hunter78 February 03, 2009, 01:12:07 PM
I hear from time to time about how good of a gun the B20 was. I have a Crosman Quest 800 .22 that have been tuned beautifully and shooting 721 fps. I guess I'm wondering if I had a B20 in .22 cal that was tuned, will it be like shooting the same gun?

You should ask Johnny Quest that question. He just bought a B-20 that had been tuned to his specs.

His gun is absolutely beautiful. I would love to have something like this in my gun case. I'm just wondering if the B20 and Crosman Quest both being tuned will they be the same type of gun far as fps and accuracy is concerned.

With my B-20 after the mods and tuning that I performed it was shooting around 910 fps. A bit higher than the norm but I was surprised at the consistency of my groups. I would normally like the fps on this type of air rifle to be in the mid to high 800 fps for consistent accuracy. When I tuned it, I wanted it to be smooth and quiet. I got both but the velocity in my opinion is a bit to high for my liking. Like I have said before the B-26 is the predecessor to the B-20.. It is hard to find a B-20 in pristine condition. Now that I have a new B-26 .22 from PeakChick, I will attempt the same mods with the difference being that it is a .22 and not a .177.

Below is my B-20 .177

That sure is a nice looking gun you got there Gene! So that means if you are getting 910 fps with the .177 the fps might be in the low 700's give or take on the .22  huh?

Diuntae, my B-20 has additional mods other than what I normally do to clients B-20 Turbo Tunes. I wanted to make this B-20 quieter and smoother so I applied some personal modifications that I have been developing. I am constantly trying to make all my springers quieter and smoother to shoot. It was not my intention to increase the fps from the norm.

To answer your question a normal B-20 or B-26 in .22 after my Turbo Tune will shoot in the low to mid 700 fps range. With the mods you could add another 25 fps on it. But I do not do these mods commercially.

Troy, that is a 4-12X40AO Tasco Target Scope. It was just to much scope so I have replaced it with a Hawk 4-12X40AO scope.

I was amazed at the way she shot when she was done with her us tour...
