Looking around at break barrel plinkers. I have enough huge, powerful rifles, would like a smaller handier .177 springer for fun shooting.
-
B2 is close, wait for the new B-16 it should be a plinker type....
-
Any idea when these will be available and more info ? I like plinkers !! kirby

Fun shooting? Try a Crosman 2100. Light, easy to pump, 3 pumps will give you perfect short range plinking, and 10 gets mine 800+ FPS with a pellet,(plus you can also use cheap BB's for that short range plinking!) so you can, in a pinch, use it for longer shots or small critters. 3 pumps is perfect for those short range chipmunk shots, where you don't want to hurt anything if you miss. I made a wood stock and cocking handle for mine. Another plus, no spring recoil or issues to cope with while firing!

Allen,
I have a Hercules B12 which is a low powered Chinese air rifle It is still made and marketed by Xisico Usa. My Hercules B12 was maded at the Xisico Factory about 10-15 years ago. It's not as refined as the newer B12. The problem with the B15 and B12 is finding a place to purchase one. These little rifles shot very good, but need to be tuned to do so. IMHO they have gotten a bad rap because the person didn't tune them or didn't aloud them to settle in with a 1,000 pellets. I'm looking for the B15 now on -line for my 7 YO son, but have had no luck finding one. I don't need a case of them, just one. In the old days they had post on how to improve the performance of the B1 and B2 family of Chinese Airguns, along with the B3/B4. I have done this on my B12 and she will shoot Gamo Hunters with the best of them.

My B12 is the rifle at the bottom of the picture. The second one from the bottom is a Industral B2, both are .177 cal.

Bill I think the TF-49 from Compasseco is the same as the B-15. Take a look and see.
-
The B-16 may be available in March, depends on the schedule at the factory and if they get them loaded on the ship....I'm hoping they make it. One of my suggestions when I visit is going to be a clone of the R-7, Xisico can make rifles as good as the best they just need to be kicked in the pants to do it...
-
I'm currently reviewing some air rifles from Compasseco, and I really like the TF-59. It's got a short cocking stroke, a smooth trigger, a comfortable stock, and decent/good looks. I'm still in the process of breaking it in right now so I can't speak definitively about its ultimate accuracy, but I have high hopes.
I'll post more about it here when I get the chance. BTW- I'm reviewing a TF-49 too, and sorry, it's not nearly in the same class as the TF-59.
-
I'm sure they'd be a lot of of folks including myself that would be all over a R7 clone , if as good as their B26's . Please let me/us know when anything happens. kirby

Eric, I just sent one to Shadow in Mich. I tuned it and you should read some of his feedback on it. They are a very good air rifle and shoot in the R-7 range or a bit higher. Very smooth quiete and suttle to shoot.
-
Were you referring to my comment about the TF-49?
I can't comment about tuned versions as I'm reviewing them "as submitted" from Compasseco... As such, the one TF-49 I'm trying right now has the most horrible trigger I've ever tried. It requires gorilla-strength to set it off, and there's no telling when the trigger's actually about to break. The rest of the rifle, I agree, ain't too bad, but there's just no excuse for that trigger being that way out of the box. It's a one-sear trigger for cryin' out loud! It requires just ONE person to look at it, stone it smooth, and lube it, before it leaves the factory. Failure to do so is inexcuseable really, at any price point, and certainly for one billed as a "top line" Chinese air rifle.
If you weren't referring to my comment, I still stand by my assessment. To me, the TF-59 seems to be the better plinker. The safety alone makes it easier to shoot.

Hey thanks guys. I looked at the site and I beleive the TF is the Industry Brand, I maybe wrong. I'm looking for a Xisico Brand B15. I may have to order a case of 5 of them!:o
I think I will start a new post, Xisico has them and someone must be purchaseing them, TF does have the TFB12!
Thanks!

The TF 59 sounds interesting, did you say Shadow posted about it here?
