Thanks again Bob for that good info on the seals. One thing I have noticed also is some of the initial damage is caused from factory installations of seals. I have noticed on some of my tunes that I do I am getting allot of new air guns sent to me. After the pre chrony test I am seeing very high numbers and erratic numbers that are above and below the norm. And lube getting past the seal will increase the velocity and further damage the seal.
After disassembly of the new springers I see where the seal has been sliced or damaged due to installation, which is caused by the sharp edges in the action. This not only happens to the average priced springers but also to some of the big named springers. Just adding my two cents..:)
