What are the different size dovetales on airguns?  My B-30 dovetale is wider than my Crosman Quest's dovetale, And what is the size of these dovetales as for scope mounts?

So if you read the info in that link that melloroadman provided...you can see that the airgun dovetails are highly variable. If you buy one of the leading brands like Leapers, and they say that its specifically made for airguns...chances are that it will fit because the rings/mounts are adjustable for various widths. Then you just need to be concerned with high, medium, and low height. And 1 inch or 30mm scope tubes. Those are the basics. I'll provide an example of a Leapers product that some of us use including myself. Sometimes its best to ask here on the forums about any got-ya's about a particular gun's dovetails...for example a B3 has a somewhat short dovetail and you may run into eye relief problems.

A one-piece adjustable clamping width, high mount for 1 inch scope tubes, and its for airgun dovetails:

At OpticsPlanet (the link above), if you buy over $29.95 worth of stuff the shipping is free.

I did some research on this subject not long ago.  I asked a few questions here and talked to reps at Optics Planet and PA.  Here's what I learned.

The 9.5mm (3/8") dovetail is apparently used on some rimfire rifles and some airguns (as I have read).  My four airguns all have 11mm grooves, see my signature.  My three rimfires all have 11mm dovetails, also.

If you measure the groove part of the rail, not the wider part above it, you'll see that it measures close to either 9.5mm (.375") or 11mm (.433").  I use the pointy part of the caliper jaws to measure.

I am using these mounts for my 11mm dovetails and they work great:

MM B-26:   http://www.pyramydair.com/cgi-bin/accessory.pl?accessory_id=636
B3-1:   http://www.pyramydair.com/cgi-bin/accessory.pl?accessory_id=2409
I'm using the provided Gamo mounts for both my Gamos, but the dovetails on both rifles measures 11mm.

BTW, there's another standard with nearly the same dovetail look as the above two.  It's called Weaver or Picatinny.  I don't have any and have never measured any, but i've read that they are 15.7mm in the grooves (.618").

Hope this helps.
