A warning about childeren and BB-Pellet guns. Do not let your kids be unsupervised around them. 1:30 this afternoon a friends youngest son was at a neighbors house playing with a friend. They had a BB gun in the bedroom, and my friends son was shot in the chest he did not make it. The BB went through his heart, he was only 6yrs. old. So please keep your kids guns put up where they can not get them, unless you are there to supervise.

...and I started teaching her gun safety with an electric airsoft pistol when she was 4 or 5, and the lessons seem to have been learned. I've also let her hold real guns from time to time (along with appropriate explanation), just so she can start recognizing them.
I can't help but believe that this will at least reduce the possibility of a tragedy. I know people who believe in the opposite approach - ignorance is bliss. Never could figure that out.

I did not knowthem but my deepest sympathy go's out to his family.PLEASE BE CAREFULL (ALL) GUNS can be dangerous. We must teach gun safty first,these children are our airgunning future. Ed :0

For sure Ed. My deepest sympathy goes out also to the family. All guns are dangerouse. Safety is our responsibility as adults. Bob and myself emphasize safety at all times when with our hobby. A bb or pellet gun is just as dangerous as a loaded fire arm. Even when working on our airguns, installing mods.
It is our responsibility to show our children and grandchildren safety when around guns.

My condolences goes out to your friends family for experiencing such a tragic accident. I work @ a hospital in a surgical unit near Los Angeles, California, and deal with all types of trauma's and injuries. I've been there for close to 6 years now and have never heard nor experienced an injury or death related airguns or bb's guns. But mark this day, I am deeply troubled that your friends family experienced this with their young child. Your post is as good as any first hand experience in the hospital and I will bear this in my mind forever especially when dealing with airgun safety in general.
