I vote for the EV2 . I had a 6fpe model MPR bumped up to what was supposed to be 12fpe , but it never shot consistent, I returned it . I've had a couple of friends that had the adjustable power MPR's and they also shot without a sweet spot . The 12fpe MPR's that Pyramyd air is offering should be better, but, if you can handle the price of an EV2 . I say go for it. I know two guys that have them and they say they are the sweetest air rilfe (PCP) they have ever shot. Being regulated , you get plenty of consistent shots. kirby

the Mpr Ft as this one http://www.pyramydair.com/p/air-arms-s400-mpr-field-target-air-rifle.shtml I don't know if it is a modifided mpr or  completely differant rifle the ad says is is 800 fps 12 ft-lbs as is the ev2 I have never owned a PCP and would like to start out right for field taget..

I own 4, 12fpe Air Arms S400's . They all shoot pretty consistent . IMO, enough to shoot F/T with, without any problem. I think the dedicated 12fpe rifles shoot more consistent than do the FAC rifles. With my Classics I get 80+ shots that are within a 20fps spread , with the Carbines , I get 50+ shots with the same spread . If the MPR at PyramydAir is a dedicated 12fpe rifle, it too should get the same kind of consistency and would be a great  rilfe to shoot F/T with. The EV2 was designed from ground up as a field target rifle . That said, I don't think I could shoot any better with one than I do with my sporters that I own . kirby

Yes I thought they should shoot the same I here they are very good, Just did not know if it was worth spending the extra $900.00 on the EV2,,Pyramid states the mpr ft is a dedicated 12fpe rifle set up for field target.
: Get to an FT match ,

Then try them both (and a few others) we only own an AA410Extra and it shoots well enough to win if I just handed it to a good shooter. At the GOB FT club in Pulaski I have tried both the airguns you mention and I liked them both. The MPR seemed lighter to me and I liked that, however I have no boubt what Kirby say's about the fps spread is correct. I like the EV2 also and have seen one shoot 59 out of 60 on an expert troter scale course. If I was spending "your" money I would love to have the EV2. (note if I could spend all your money I wold want a Whiscombe)
Hopefully you have already attended many FT shoots, I just keep trying to give my best "what do I buy" advise to everyone which is, "get to a match" and that goes for trying out and learning about non FT airguns also.
Best of luck in your pursuit.
