: Calling on B26 experts regarding muzzle breaks
: jberenyi February 17, 2009, 02:00:27 AM
Hello B26 Experts,

I am really loving my MM-B26 and recently bought a custom muzzle break from Rich that is about 5.5" long.  I called Mike to ask his opinion about the proper placement of a muzzle break on this air rifle.  His comment was to install it at first with a 1" gap between the bottom of the muzzle break and end of the barrel and take some shots to witness the precision.  He also said that this dimension is a starting place and to play around with the distances until you get the best precision.

My question for you B26 users is what has been your best gap setting with a muzzle break.  I would think its going to be between 1"-2".  I plan to test this at the indoor range this week down the street when I get the time but it never hurts to ask others before I go on this endeavor.

I am not an expert but I do have two B-26's and a B-26-2 with a factory muzzle break. The difference in over all length is three inches between the stock 26 and the 26-2. So that might be a good place to start and adjust if necessary. The 26-2 is very accurate with the muzzle break where it is .The other modified 26 I have has one of Gene's Shrouds' on it and the brass bushing that appears to be about a half  inch long buts directly against the end of the barrel. It is also very accurate. For what it's worth.
