Went out at twilight in my front yard and had my first chance to hunt with the Gamo 440 that Gene C. sold me. Ten minutes later I had three bunnies down with three shots. I have not had a chance to mount a scope and the front light pipe is missing, but the gun is so light and easy to shoot that I may stay with iron sights. I also shoot a Gamo CFX, a Crossman/Mendoza and an AR2078A and I think that the Gamo 440 hits the hardest of the lot. Using RWS Super Domes it was clean kill time at 20-30 yards on every rabbit (offhand). With even my brighter scopes it is hard to get a good sight picture after the sun goes down. Thanks Gene, please call me when your .22 FX is for sale!!!

What caliber is your 440 ?

The Gamo 440 is a .177 as are all my air guns. If I buy a PCP, I will get a .22 as the jack rabbits in our part of the high desert are hard to put down as they stay out at 40-45 yards and look like coyotes with long ears.

Thanks for the post, wish I had a good place to hunt non-game birds but there are no duck farms or any farms for that matter where I live. I do have about 200 quail here on our property but I have spent a fortune in feeding them and do not want to hunt my pets. California does not allow dove hunting with air guns or I would have a field day, often there are 50+ dove in my front yard.

Triplets, great shooting to get three at one outing. Sometimes when you shoot the first one, the others scatter. That should fill the ice box nicely. Ed
