Tonight, getting ready to go up against Kirby's new R7 later this weekend, I shot two of my favorite little springers, 50 rounds each, standing, off-hand at 10 meters.
The first 5 x 5-round groups were for sighting in at 10 meters and practice. The second 5 x 5-round groups were scored using a 10-meter, 5 bull Edelmann practice target and shooting Vogel Greens, 4.5mm, 8.3 grain match pellets.
The HW30s was tuned by CDT, has Maccari innerds, and is scoped with a BSA 4 x 32mm AO .
The CZ-634 was tuned by Gene Curtis, including some very nice trigger work, and is scoped with a BSA 2-7x 32mm AO.
Scores:
HW30s 165
CZ-634 161
I think it is really a coin toss between the two rifles. The HW30s may be a bit easier to shoot and at 530-550 fps is target friendly. The CZ now actually has the better trigger (yes, better than even the Rekord adjusted to about a 1-lb pull!), and is shooting around 720 fps, I think. It is particularly lethal to small rodents. I hadn't really shot many 10-meter targets with either recently. I was pleasantly surprised to see how well I did with both springers. I have a "few" air rifles, it's true, but for just plain "fun to pick up and shoot", these nice little low to medium power springers are hard to beat! I paid $215 for the HW30s and $179 for the CZ-634 new, and both are now less than 1 year old. I don't think you will find either at that price any more.

Nice job! And good report. Gonna be tough to beat.

Have you ever seen David shoot? I have. I wanna be able to shoot like Dave when I grow up.

I'm sticking with my JC Fields or Foster Brooks comment about wobbling when I shoot lately. Too much time on the bench or field target position I guess.
But I do have a nice LG250 coming in the mail to practice with! I can't wait to squeeze off some shots. It's been a long long time for me without a 10M match rifle.

Nice Report Tommy : Thanks for the compliment . LOL I noticed you have a BSA 4X on your HW30S. What's your opinion of these little scopes ? I've ordered 2 of them , they should be here next week. I searched around before ordering and couldn't really find that much about them . Seems like it should be a nice scope for the money and a nice match for a HW30 or R7 powered rifle. You're right about the price you payed for your HW30S , That's a great price . Kirby

I prefer the 2-7X 32 mm AO to the 4X 32 mm AO, in general. But for 5-25 yards, back yard kind of shooting, they are perfectly adequate. Air gun rated. Target turrets. Front bell AO adjustments. They focus sharply down to about 5 meters They are a good match for the smaller springers, very light. I have also had one on a MM B26 with no problems. The AccuShot 1-piece mounts are perfect for them. I I found them on sale at Natchez Shooter's Supply for a great price and ordered one of each and later, ordered a third of the 2-7X 32 mm. May order another. I like to keep one on hand as an extra to throw on the next new gun. $25 and $50 bucks respectively. Sure, maybe not the optical quality of some of the $100-$200 and up scopes, but pretty clear and a real bargain for an air gun rated scope, I think.

Thanks Tommy for the scope review ; I just hope they're better than the Barska 4X AG scopes I bought a couple of years ago. kirby
