An assault on our Liberty is taking place with regular rifles right now. I wonder if air rifles are next.

Welcome to the club. (http://../jscripts/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-cry.gif) A few of your states already have bans on airguns....no selling, procession or shooting of airguns. In Canada only 500fps or lower airguns are allowed to be sold over the counter....anything above is considered a "real" firearm...and courses have to be passed in order to buy those. In most cities, airguns are not allowed to be used.....even in your own backyard. And most provinces don`t allow airguns to be used for hunting.

In many cities in the US air guns are banned from being fired within the city limits and your own backyards already. It is a slow process with government. Kinda like a slow spreading cancer eating away at our freedoms and rights..

I never have figuered out the reasoning behind no smoking allowed in bars..:) Next there will be no drinking allowed in bars..:)

I started to post on this yesterday then got busy. Obama is pushing the Assault weapons ban again as we speak. The headlines on ABC's web site yesterday stated this very thing. I still trying to figure out what the definition of an assault weapon is. I'm not looking for the politically motivated definition but the true meaning. To me it means anything you take control of to harm another person be it a gun, baseball bat, kitchen knife or an automobile. Didn't they just give the big three25 billion to build more assault weapons. I feel bad for all the folks that are going to be out ofwork when the ban goes through. I guess he doesn't have the country's best interest at hand. I wonder if anyone that voted for him looses their job because of what he is doing will feel betrayed???????

in nyc u cant even own a sling shot thats how bad it is .the other day the police department had people hand in there firearms for 200 $ no question ask they collected 3000 guns .they do this from time to time.i wonder what catagory airguns will fall under in this situation.

If this yo-yo is able to disarm this country with in the next four years it will be a free for all for criminals. Things have gotten so bad in some places in Europe that they going back to having police officers carry guns again.

Greenville, South Carolina, has a ban on discharging a projectile with in the city limits. When you get right down to it this includes nerf guns!

That is why I am glad I live just outside the city limits.

Yep even Belton and Anderson cities have the same law. But my property borders the County line and no homes any where near the direction I shoot in..:) And that even goes for Red Ryder BB guns.. hehe

Im in Houston, Texas.
I have not research discharging airguns on private property.
I pressumed it was OK, neighbors dont mind, but Id be more comfortable knowing, rather than just assuming.
Any Houstonians here know the law?

GTA got blocked by WebSense at my place of employment recently. I mentioned to my boss that my co-worker looks at vintage Ford Mustang sites all of the time and they didn't block them. I told him that I was pretty sure that more people had been killed by Mustangs than Airguns, and they didn't block those sites.

Was Teddy Kennedy driving a Mustang? His car has killed more people than any of my guns.

Also, did any of you notice that they were showing full-auto weapons that were being used by drug traffickers. Aren't those already illegal? Will a law blocking semi-autos stop them from owning them? I think not. Maybe enforcing existing laws would be a good idea first, eh?

One thing that irritates me- People automatically assuming one thing will lead to some extreme. CALM DOWN, PEOPLE. I'm a liberal and I'm for the 2nd Amendment.

Assault weapons are kind of pointless for hunting. Unless you're a collector (which I'm starting to think of becoming if I'm ever rich), there's really no point to having one.

STOP FREAKING OUT. THE GOVERNMENT WILL NEVER TAKE ALL OUR GUNS AWAY. There would be a revolution before that ever happens.

Michael, one thing I have learned in my life time is: Never say Never... It will come back an bite you in the behind..:) Government will end up disarming us. Maybe not in my life time but bet your booty that is what is gonna happen..:(

You know Jay buddy,

I have watched both of these videos before, and agreed totally with them. But after watching them again, I can clearly see, what I have always feared, That the Government has encroached far beyond there intended limitations, and now the few totally control the many.

We are being stripped of our individual rights, told how to think, what to say, who is right and what is wrong, what is good for us, and what is bad !

But Gene is correct, not in his or my lifetime. They will continue miss-educating the people, controlling the sheeple, and as the expand their control, will make a police state to keep the sheeple safe from the criminals, who the Government allows to exist by releasing them due to overcrowding and not prosecuting them or arresting them in the first place, due to restrictions and Government controlled courts.

As the young people become more compliant to the will and whims of the Government, they will become willing to relinquish their rights and arms, and follow their leaders, much as so many do today. The day of the mindless sheeple is coming, GOD HELP THEM ALL !

I believe that the teachers union has been catered to, so that the teaching of "Politically Correct history", and the omission of THE TRUE history of America,will aid the Government in the creation of citizens with out knowledge of the true Constitution of the United States of America. Kinda sounds like "Animal Farm" doesn't it !

May GOD BLESS AMERICA AND SAVE US FROM OURSELVES !!!!!!!!!!

First, you have to understand what the purpose of this right was all about, and it was NOT for your ability to hunt. When written, our military was made up mostly of militia, civilians who came to the call, With them they brought their weapons. We won our independence with them, and the government wanted to make sure we were able to maintain our independence against an oppressive government, if the need arose and they were thinking of our the very government they were putting in place. In fact, they had in visioned that there would be periodic need for shake ups even back then to keep the government in place.

No, this was intended to allow us to maintain a somewhat even footing with the government, to allow us to have equal or similar firepower to what would be on hand with the military. How could they envision machine guns, cruise missiles, Abram tanks, etc?  They couldn't. But when it came to "arms" it was intended for us to be on even footing, thus this is supposed to protect our very right to own assault rifles, and if you don't agree, you are missing the big picture.
