The special club catalog for March has wooden stock Winchesters for $44, and synthetic stocks with scopes for $54.

They are Hatsans re badged , Good power but horrible triggers Did I say Horrible !

I've got an original 1000x when they first came out, now that's a HORRIBLE non-adjustable trigger, I've read that they have improved over time but I can't confirm that fact as I would not buy another.  And to boot, mines no 1000fps shooter like the latest ones.

For that price are they refurbished?  How about a link?

Yeah, the triggers are certainy "stiff" :)

I already have 2 of these that I bought from Cabelas about 3 years ago, 1in wood and 1 in synthetic, and while the triggers are a bear for sure I gotta say,,, they are the 2 most powerful .177 springers I have and if you can get used to the trigger they are accurate as heck, at least mine are.  Mine weren't refurbs, and I realize these are, but for the price I may pick one up jut to tinker with.

I've used both for squirrel hunting and man, do they ever knock the stuffings outa the tree rats I've hit.

I'm thinking of picking up one of these sale guns just to have some spare parts and to tinker with.

Curious........I just clicked on that link and was looking around. There was a box at the bottom of one of the pages that listed states that airguns can't be shipped to, and it listed Mass.  I had no trouble getting my CFX from PA. Anyone know if they actually won't ship to the listed states ???.............Curious..........cause that Winchester looks good for the money !!!

Wow and $10 bucks more for a scope! I agree, it could be a fun project to tinker with, Has anyone out there tried a tune or replacing trigger?

Here's a link Daisy/Winchester 1000 forum:

http://www.network54.com/Forum/392756/

It might answer your questions.

I'm tempted to hit the buy button but the heavy trigger really is a negative and I really don't need another .177, the wife would kill me.

There are a couple of internet sites dealing with tuning the winchester/daisy triggers, supposedly you can make them a bit better.

On the 2 I already have I just left the trigger alone and let them wear in thru use.  They're still stiff but I got used to them and don't have any problems shooting my guns accurately.

I performed the full tune as per the online guide and then some. The trigger came out great or at least 100 times better than it started. It was a lttle intimidating at first but once I got into it,not that bad,use the dowl pin trick it mentions and you'll be set.

They are serious.  I live in Michigan and ordered and paid for one to see if I could sneak one by.  No dice.  I've corresponded with them on this because I have never had a problem getting a rifle shipped to me.  They quote our stupid firearm laws that say anything with a rifled barrel that shoots pellets is a firearm and needs FFL.  It is a joke because I can buy at local stores no questions asked.  I also could buy a crossbow or blackpowder without any paperwork but apparently all the stores are in violation of our great law.

Thanks for the reply, Andy. I just sent them an email last night, asking if it was some kind of misprint. I've never had trouble with any other seller. Have to see if I get a reply !!!............Raoul

i have the 1000sb and its very accurate and hard hitting at 35yds they group well into a nickel with match pellets i think they go the 1000fps cause when the pellet his the board i have u hear it go pop not like the whisper u hear it hitting but not as loud. i dont have a chrony but the noise difference leads me to believe that the 1000sb is coming at 1000fps.the trigger is very decent once u pay mind to the length of the pull, its a hard plastic.for the price u cant get nothing better its well worth it .its strong and has a slight kick i have two and both the same i just recieved the other one when my friend took flight to puerto rico.... .i dont need two so i might sell or trade it for a crosman 1377 or a 2240 well whatever comes first ....great rifles the winchester 1000sb by daisy ......jorge....
