OK guys I know it's a bad idea to use those spring breaking, seal slapping PBA pellets in a springer but how about in a PCP? I've got about 47 out of a packet of 50 that I got with the Maxima! I'm not going to use them in the Maxima so how about in a PCP? My thinking is this: They are harder than nornal lead (by how much I don't really know!) so they will wear the land of the rifling! Am I right in saying that and the best thing to do is chuck them? Or it makes no odds, shoot them and forget them! Any views on this from the Dark Side?
As the force is growing strong in me (The big brown box is here tomorrow morning!) I know that to fight against it is now futile so I will embrace it with open arms! Take me, I'm yours!!

You can shoot the PBAs in a PCP rifle, or a CO2 or MSP for that matter. Just don't expect any great accuracy.

I just don't want to bugger up my new gun so I'll chuck em or use them as targets! I'll stick with the tried and tested lead I think!

Won't hurt the barrel, they aren't that hard on them...dirty/dusty pellets will wear a barrel a lot more.
But the question becomes "why?" Accuracy is seldom all that great, and penetration in soft objects (meat, wet news paper, lined up spoiled oranges, etc.) isn't any better than lead pellets as slower speeds. They will "ding" a metal sheet deeper (or make it tough a thickness that stops a lead pellet), but unless you intend vandalizing cars, can't see a real good need for that.
The gold one in the picture below is a .22PBA...notice it penetrates )soaked news print in this case) just about the same as the slower lead CP.

Another thing to note is that they're LOUD. They'll go supersonic and stay that way for a while if you've got a high FPS gun.
I shot a few out of my Talon SS, FPS maxed out in stock form. The shot was quiet enough, but you could hear the pellet screaming all the way to the target 60 yards away.

Ditto Peak- the Raptors are GREAT if you're into 3 inch diameter groups! I liked the Raptors when I had my Nitro. Guns of lesser power help the Raptors perform better. I still think they're a plot pellet to purposefully break springers thereby forcing their owners to purchase new replacement guns!
