Dear Employees,

As the CEO of this business that employs 140 people, I have resigned myself to the fact that Barrack Obama is our President, and that our taxes and government fees will increase in a BIG way. To compensate for these increases, I figure clients will have to see an increase in our fees to them of about 8% but since we cannot increase our fees right now due to the dismal state of our economy, we will have to lay off six of our employees instead. This has really been eating at me for a while, as we believe we are family here and I didn't know how to choose who will have to go.

So, this is what I did: I strolled thru our parking lot and found six Obama bumper stickers on our employees' cars and have decided these folks will be laid off. I can't think of a more fair way to approach this problem. These folks wanted change; I gave it to them. If you have a better idea, let me know.

Well Randall, I have had to lay off, fire and hire lots of people in my life and I agree 110% with your BOSS..:)

We'll boys I have to disagree.  Obama has not been in office for sixty days and you want to blame HIM for our economy? George Bush and the Republican held Congress is the blame.  At least his is trying to do something, right or wrong.  We may criticize what he is trying to do is one thing.  But don't blame him for our woes now.  Let's see what happens a year or two out, then you can criticize him.  The sticker should say, "Prosecute Bush".  It would be like Redfeather shooting a beautiful song bird and Johnny Quest moving into Redfeathers house then taking the blame for shooting this beautiful song bird.  All the neighbors around now wants to move poor Johnny Quest out of the house and he didn't have anything to do with the killing of a song bird.  In our case the beautiful song bird is "America" and Johnny Quest is Obama.  
Don't you just hate politics.

You're absolutely right. Lets be fair.  Neither Obama nor Bush is responsible.  The fault is with the Democrats/Liberals that largely controlled Congress over the past 40-50 years and have created an entitlement society ( see Lyndon Johnson's Great Society) that has failed to raise the poor by soaking those who take personal responsibility for success.  And even though the Welfare State has not been improved, their addiction to entitlement requires that they continue to support the Democrats/Liberals in order to keep the checks coming.

Obama's current failing is not that he caused the economic downturn.  His inability to focus on the fact that the financial market crisis is killing ALL of America (including Main St., not just Wall St.) and his continued negative oratory has accelerated the downward spiral.  Couple that with his misguided focus at the current time on all of the typical Democratic/Liberal entitlement program poster children like health care and education, and you have a President that just "doesn't get it"...it's the economy, stupid!!!  Obama's attempts to redirect America's attention by floating the usual left wing red herrings has crushed the people's confidence that he has the slightest clue that Americans are hurting NOW!!!  90 year old men have had to go back to work flipping burgers because 401K's have been wiped out.

Just my 2 cents.

ABSOLUTELY--I LOVE IT. You made my day--my week and my new year! I have this simplistic view that if you voted for him you are part of the problem and deserve what you get.

The inherited the problem is just plain garbage. He instills fear to promote socialistic ideals. I guess we should be happy that his deficits will dwarf the deficits of previous administrations. I hope this man never has to face a 9-11.

 Well guys it was meant as a joke ... but here we are in the polital gate now...

So Bush's term ended in 2006... when the dems and libs got control of the house.. the resession started shortly after.. This ain't bush's doings.. when we had control the stock market was close to 14,000.. when the investers saw that a liberal terrorist was most likley to be elected, they started laying off and the snowball came rollin down the hill at full speed.. forclosures and all... ya didn't hear a dam word about forclosure rate till way after HIS OBAMANESS was a sure thing.. the war in Irac, the media, the liberal congress spouting we are killing inocent people, ALONG WITH ALLLLL THE BUSH BASH,N . ELECTED THIS IDIOT WE HAVE NOW...

I figured it was after my first post but it still is the best thing I have heard by far this week. I also suspect that some of the layoffs are sort of a reverse bubble. I feel that with unemployment benefits so good and lengthy smaller employers do not feel so bad about laying someone off. I don't mean to disrespect anyone who lost his or her job. Last week on a talk radio show a woman called in and thought it was just wrong that the unemployed got more money in the check than the employed. Turns out as she talks on she nets 400 plus per week unemployed and her husband has his own business with employees. Last night while coming home late around 10 pm I heard a couple of stories about refusing an 18 dollar per hour job because the unemployment benefits were better. What is wrong with this picture?? BTW I also heard from a tax preparer source that the withholding tables are being changed but the tax tables for next year stay the same. I need to look into that little item. SO Beware! It is easy to bite off more than one can effectively chew. Just think for some folks these will be the "good old days." Pretty Scary eh? Thechnically I think the stock market close today was more positive. Barring anymore Obama Bombs might see some recovery.
