I just tore down My Webley Jaguar for a tune and lube as well as a trigger tune, Here's what they look like the piston is turned from 1 piece of steel very nice better than any china gun I've seen , no bend around a mandrel and braze to make the piston . see the pics. howie PS my Winchester is the same ain't that the nuts.

Would you please post a pic of the inside of the stock at the rear action screw hole? Many Webley 's (Longbows esp?) have an excessively thin strip of wood remaining after the inletting proceedure. It is at the rear screw hole which attaches/holds the action in place. This picture would help to understand the extensiveness of this documented phenomenon.
Thanks.

That is a quality piston Howie! Do you know if it's the original or a custom? With those two washers at the back in place of the rear spring guide I'd (using my 3 months of AG experience!LOL!) say that it's been modded a bit! But if she shoots well, then that's the proof in the pudding! Good luck with the rebuild and tune!

The rifle came with a plastic stock but I've built a new stock for it so any picturies of the inside of the stock would not be a help and that is the stock piston and my winchester has the same piston both made in Turkey . howie PS if you want to see the stock look under the air gun gate. the tune is done and it shoots great about 693 with CHPP (14.3) . for a 22 cal that is not bad
