: HDD power adjuster and adjustable sear
: onelight March 09, 2009, 12:05:23 PM
Found some goodies on the Airguns of Arizona, site and had to add them to the disco.
I installed the adjustable sear,(it really does make it 2 stage and the adjustment woks well also.
Also installed the HDD and the power adjuster.
One of the questions I could not find a post here on was what range of adjustment to expect with the power adjuster.
I do not know if this will help any one else but here are some crony. numbers from my 22 with the" hdd" and power adjuster.
I started with a fill of 1750-1800 by the gauge on the gun.
all shots were with crossman  P.H.P.
with the Power adjuster (PA from now on) just touching the hammer spring guide
343 344 347 347 354 353 365 364 E = (crony error)E 373 E E 374 388 E E 389 377 395 387

I still need to do shot count and velocity spread readings for power adjuster settings and fill levels to see what works best
But what I was looking for was lower sound and power levels for indoor shooting and I have found them .
I seem to have lost 40 or 50 fps off the top but the way I use my disco It will not matter.

Mark did you ever get a chance to run a whole string through the chrony . And how is Big Ed's sear doing ? I had thought about getting one when the screw mod did not work well for me . Then I hear about the lower link mod and being the tight wad that I am I went that way . Marvin

Marvin the sear is a big improvement, the trigger it now has a proper two stage feel to it.It is a little slow to adjust requiring removal from the gun on each adjustment.
I started with mine set heavy and am working it down a little at a time to be sure safe function is not compromised. It is already much better than the stock sear and
 may improve more with adjustment.
I put the pin in the lower link back in the stock hole so this is another variable that may need some testing.I will let you know when I get it worked out.
As far as velocity testing I hope to run some strings soon to find the highest consistent no.of shots at 2 power levels one for indoor and 1 for out.
I am hoping to find a fill level and spring settings that will give me 500 to 550 fps on low and 700 to 750 on high on the same fill. I do not have enough experience
with the discovery to know if this is a realalistic goal but it is fun to mess with......Mark
