Is it advisable to bulk fill a 2240 stock with 14 inch barrel. I currently get 40 usable shots with 12grams cartridge. What can I expect on bulk fill as far as shot count. Can I even get 25-30 shots with this undertaking?

Unless you change out to a bigger tube, I think you only get about 15 shots on bulk fill, however if you use a remote, sky's the limit. John

I never had much luck with bulk filling and I've been down that road twice . I must have done it wrong ,because I always got more shots and better efficiency using carts . I even added the 2260 tube and unless I left the bottle attached , it didn't work as well as I had hoped . I could have bought a lot of carts with the money I considered wasted on bulk filling .Just my 2 cents kirby

Seems like using carts the best route for a 2240 considering that's single cart for 40 shots. I don't like adding an external bottle to a pistol. On my QB78 after modding i get about 30 power shots, when tapping off 20 oz bottle on my notes..the first 10 fills or once the bottle has 7oz CO2 left on the bottle I can only get 15 to 20 shots that's the point where I attach a remote for continuous shooting, I guess there is more gas than liquid after 7 OZ. When I weight a full 20 OZ it's only filled between 18-17 OZ of CO2.I get my 24 OZ tanks filled only for $1.00 each making it cost effective.

The advantage of bulk fill to me would be the ability to shoot when it is cold. I find the CO2 not so good in the winter. I have all summer to get the bulk fill researched, but I would be using it for dawn/dusk pest control. For plinking in the barn the CO2 and valve mods I have done reaallly helped out. One is a pistol I got from Kirby, I can almost shoot throught 3/4 board now at about 25' and after it warms up and with a 14 to 18 " barrel I sure expect to crack that barrier. However I also have a CDT tuned S1K and it will shoot through the boardeasily with crosman pointed or gamo superpells. It also gived me something to tinker with. It is not cost effective. I would be money ahead if I just initially bought a talon or condor, between shipping and trading up, etc. Not to promote other forums, but this link is pretty good on bulking ang shots http://www.network54.com/Forum/79537/thread/1236741376/2250+PCP+-+CAUTION-+Lots+of+photos.....
Good shooting, John
PS thanks again Kirby, almost one hole groups at 30 feet with the rifle stock. Thinking of converting one to .177 to shoot pest out of local feed shop. Owner is tired of birds but the fake owls and whistles are not working.
Bentong, I live in Ocala, I go to Jax oncein a while. Give me a hollar and maybe we can get a shoot planned.

I was stationed in that area many moons ago (1989-1991). Was on Pinecastle Electronic Bombing Range. It's a restricted area that's why a lot of trophy sized deer seek refuge there. I lived in Tavares area and wished I had air rifles then lots of shooting area specially the back of the house I was renting. You'll not miss hunting season because you'll see a lot of lost dog's and gunshots everywhere. Had some good times fishing there.
