: Pellets-Best And Least Expensive On Line Place To Buy
: January 08, 2007, 04:25:04 AM
Where I live there isn't too many places to purchase pellets, Walmart, Dicks, so I need to find a on line source to buy them but I just hate to pay $5.00 for pellets and $5.00 for shipping. Any suggestions where I might purchase several boxes and not pay too much to have them shipped ?

Thanks Bill

Hey Bill,

Pyramydair of course has that "get the 4th tin free" policy, which helps defray the shipping cost.  If you combine your purchase with a 10% off coupon it's even better.  Midsouth has great pellet prices at times, I mean really good, which again cuts off some of the shipping.  Only other thing I can think of is that DNR Sports, while they don't have a huge selection, does have a good selection and for some reason they're shipping charges always seem to be much lower than other sites when I order stuff from them.  They are also a real pleasure to deal with.  Hope this helps.

By the way,,,, as soon as it stops raining here I'll get to chrony'ing the 890 and get back to you with the #s.

For Crosman Premier (boxed and canned) pellets, the best deal I've found is pyramidair.com. Their base price for these is about the same as everyone else... but when you buy 3 you get 1 for free. If you buy enough of them ($150 worth), you also get free shipping. Last summer I bought 20,000 pellets (16 boxes) for a total of about $175 - very reasonable for Premiers.

But for some other pellets their prices aren't so good. Midsouthshooterssupply.com has much better prices on Gamo pellets.

In any event, the more you buy the better the deal. If you get charged $5 shipping for one tin of pellets, you might only get charged $6 for two, $7 for 4, and so on.

Thanks Jeff, I'm very interested in knowing what you get when you run them over your chronograpy, I know that mine might not be the same as yours. This gun I have seems to shoot pretty hard, yesterday I was messing around ane fired a few into a metal post that was part of a old swing set we have in the backyard, the kids use to play on it but they all have their own homes now, it left a pretty good dent in the metal and it was about 50 yards away.

Thanks Bill

The pellet that seems to work the best in most of my guns is the RWS Meisterkugeln (.177). I'm getting ready to order from Pyramyd Air. Along with a few other odds & ends that I need I'll be ordering enough to get me over $150.00 so as to get free S&H. The pellets are priced at $9.15 per 500, I'm going to order 20 tins. That means that  I'll be paying for 15 tins & getting 5 tins free (4 for the price of 3). If you divide $137.50 by 20 tins thats a little more than $6.86 per tin with no S&H. A pretty good deal. 8)
Mike

EDIT: It's been about 1 hour since my original post & I just happend to check MidSouth. They have the RWS Meisters for $5.94 per 500. That's a good price but I don't know what S&H costs.
Ok, I think I'm done now. :)

http://www.dnrsports.com/acatalog/Airgun_Ammunition.html

very good prices here on Beeman and RWS, for example:

500 RWS Superdomes in .22 - $8.50
500 Diablo Basic .177 - $2.70
500 Crow-mag .177 - $9.50

thats about 2-3 dollars less per tin then Pyramyd.

Pyramid air has good prices on several things.  The problem I have found is getting them to fill your order.  When they finally fill it they must strap it on the back of a stubborn donkey, because it takes forever for you to get it.

Maybe I am the only one, but I do a lot of shopping on the internet, I don't believe I have ever dealt with a business that is this slow.

My advice if you expect to get your merchandise in a timely manner, pay a little more and go somewhere else.

Good shooting,

Perry

Yes Pyramid is slow but most of the time they wait till they get all the items first and then ship. Did you notice on the order form you can specify to ship what they have and the rest later?

Hey Lib

Rich and myself wiped out Midsouth on there Beeman FTS .20 cal pellets. They are cheaper than any other place. Dirt cheap ..:)

Take a look at Straightshooters. They have buy 4 and get one free. The pellets you are looking for may be cheaper there..
