: TF-89 scope stop
: jlg986 March 24, 2009, 10:46:20 AM
Took the TF 89 out for the first time and after about 10 shots the scope stop fell off. In my opinion that thing does not get it. I did get the trigger adjusted to a pretty good clean break. I have the Leapers I piece mount coming , but will that also work as a good scope stop? Can someone tell me how to keep the scope from moving on this rifle? It is the .177. Thanks.

The Accushot 1 piece mount will do the trick if you mount it properly.....

First thing is to make sure you clean ALL SURFACES thoroughly with denatured alcohol.  Clean the reciever, dovetail grooves, scope tube, all mount surfaces including all the allen screws,,,, CLEAN EVERYTHING.......

AFter everything is squeeky clean then begin installation.  Use blue loc-tite on all screws and when you're all finished put the rifle aside and let the loc-tite dry and cure for at least 24 hours ------  48 hours is even better.

After that........ go ahead and shoot your rifle all you want ........  the scope and mount won't move ever again   :)

Hey Jeff, once again thanks for the help. I was worried that the new mount wouldn't hold it either. I will  do what you suggested. Thanks & take care. Joe.

Not a problem,,,, I have the Accushot mount on my 89 (and all my other rifles) and have never had a scope or mount move.....
