: XS17?
: Graham March 28, 2009, 05:05:49 AM
Hi guys, over here in the UK they sell an XS17, and here the XS lettering is just our version of the B over there. I would assume then that this then would be a B17, however I can find no mention of this model anywhere and wondered if any of you could shed some light on what this gun actually is? Hope you can help, have a buddy looking for help tuning it.

Hello Graham, I'm not sure this will help much ... but If go to the "best airgun" site in the GTA MALL they have XS in front of there B not really sure why, you can maybe email and ask about a XS-17? Tony.
: got a picture?????
: mikeiniowa March 28, 2009, 11:00:06 AM
it would help, many models have different numbers in different parts of the world...did the google thing....looks like a B-11 or D-18 (Canadian model) with a different stock. Direct sear with a swivel on the sear. What info do you need to tune???

This is the best picture I can find, hope it helps. The guys that own these (two so far) can not figure how to lighten the trigger, they say you need two fingers to fire the thing. There is also no information on how to dismantle one or what's inside one. All we know so far is that the trigger unit is welded to the action, and the crosspins need knocking out to take it apart. Sorry I can't give more info, but like I say, we can't find any.

Here's a couple of pictures of the trigger unit. Ring any bells?

Ya know Graham, I have seen that trigger design on one of the Chinese springers I have worked on. But cannot remember the model. It may have been one of the TF series that Compassaco sells.

I checked compassaco and it may be the TF-39 that has that trigger.

Hi Gene, I just looked at the TF39 and the TF20, both of those seem to have the safety on the left side, but this thing we've got over here is on the right. It's a strange beast for sure.

Hi I think  it is the same trigger in my bam 11 from Mike M  it can be adjusted to shoot very nice not a target trigger but not bad and made to break good. My Bam 11 is a nice shooting rifle in the 670 fps range and nice an accurate able to do clover leafs. howie1a

Well Graham, maybe it is like your automobiles's. Your steering wheel is on the right side where our's is on the left side..:)  I just could not resist..

I do hope someone could chime in and help you and all of us out that are wondering which model it is here in the US.

Easy to do...remove the pin through the trigger and pull the rod with the spring on it out, compress the action and tap the pin out, pull the trigger out, there is a small spring for the sear watch hwere it goes and don't lose it, decompress the spring and remove from the press, it all falls out...
: it is the B-11 or D-18 rifle with a different stock

For a main seal the Apex small or Tesla small will work, the trigger needs a careful polishing and some lube. It may take a time or two to get it just right but will smooth and lighten if done correctly, the inner spring for the sear can be shortened slightly and a lighter spring for the trigger installed, you should be able to get the pull down to around 3 pounds and still have a safe set up....

Mike,

How about new spring for this Model or the D-18 I got from you. I have a Industry B-2 spring in it now. Thanks for answering the question about seals, for I'm getting blow by from the D-18 seal and the B-2 leather seal. Tar on the chin! One more ?, How about breech seals for the B11, B12 and D18 guns. Will the B18/19, B20 and B26 seal fit.

Thanks!

Let me do some research, the spring will be easy, the breech seal may take some work,,,,
: Mike it not like the 6 B11s I have
: kiwi March 30, 2009, 01:32:03 PM
If it is a B11 is not even close to the ones I have
Mine are made by "SPA" ...Snow peak Airguns.
The one in the pics has a totaly diffrent trigger set up.

The Bam rifles have a real nice fit and finish, just need a better trigger to go world class, the B-11 stock is OK, the D-18 and 17 stock is a factory option you can get if you special order and is really nice....

Mike,

What spring are you referring to in the above post? I'm looking to get the D-18 shooting in the 700/750 fps range(8 fpe). The steps I guess I need to take is first to get the blow by fit with new seal and then work on the spring and guide. Just wondering if a HW-30 factory spring would fit? I like the little rifle, it's a joy to carry and shoot.

Thanks!

what I have for the spring is this, 33 coils, ID.500, wire size .115, length approx 9 inches, the spring can be spaced up quite abit (1/2 inch?), I'll space up a stock spring and see what happens....spaced a stock spring up .270 thats about all it would take, with a new seal it only did a bout 550-560 and it was smoking quite a bit. I don't think you will get it to 700, stroke etc is just not there.....haven't ried everything possible but.....almost forgot, Canadian model, has to be under 500, better spring will bring it up to 700 possibly, wonder what the spring is in the B-11.......

Mike,

I'm going to start a new thread on the D-18. This weekend I will go to storage and dig the chrony out. I'll take the B-2 spring out and put all the stock stuff in her and start over.

Thanks!

Graham,

Same rifle that me and Mike are talking. Do you have any numbers for FPS on yours or spring spec.?

Thanks!
