A good weekends shoots. Thanks for taking part and I hope we all enjoyed ourselves.

Hey Andy good job adding up all those scores. I see your scores going up already with the heavier Maxima....and you did fine shooting in the 40mph wind!!!!
-
Stan, If my scores get any lower, they'd be in the minus range! (LOL!) The heavier Maxima does slow the wobbles down a bit but not enough do deal with the wind! It was getting to the point of calling it a day after the first match but the warrior instinct just took over! At the moment, I'm inbetween thunder storms, just hope the sun pokes his head out tomorrow! You did well this week! Your scores are on the way up too. I still intend catching you Buddy (before I retire!!)

Thanks for the kind words. That's true....I didn't realize that was my best scores for the "Steriod 15" match so far....until you mentioned it and I just looked over my target sheets. 1/4" dots, 1/4" dots, that's what I've been shooting at in my basement at 8 to 9 meters off-hand.....I guess they really help.

Thanks for the Match results Andy !!!!!
Great job as usual ! I hope everyone enjoyed this match as much as I did !!!!!
Maybe next week we can attract additional members here !

Good job, Andy.
I have a "H***" of a time with the steroid target, too. Maybe, I'll shoot it better if I can every get to shoot in the daylight when it's not raining. Just keep practicing and you'll get there.

I think I have discovered how I can add another 12-15 points per match to my score when I am shooting the "Steroid Match" targets at 10 meters, standing, off-hand. I need a judge's ruling, please.
There are 8 inches vertical difference, CTC, between the top row and bottom row of targets. For me, shooting off hand, that is a sufficient change in the point of impact at 10 meters to cause me to have to change my rear foot position significantly to zero. And I still have inconsistency in how I score on the very top row vs the very bottom row. I seem to either start strong and drop a few of the last shots, out of the bulls, or vice versa. So tonight, in practice, I paid very close attention to my natural point of aim and shooting position for each row and now the reason seems obvious.
To test this, I shot a practice match shooting the middle row and the lower 9 targets first. Then I flipped the target upside down and shot the last 6 targets. The vertical variance is now only 4 inches, top to bottom. Except for one flyer that was just a bad miss, I put everything in the black and beat my best score by about 10 points.
So here is the question: is flipping the target upside down half way through a Steroid Match to cut the variation in the height of the target bulls by half legal?
-
TCups....I don't think your just discovered secret will help me.....unless halfway through the match I bring the target 2 meters closer. heh heh

OK by me. I may try shooting target horizontal. I need all the help I can get on the steroid match.

Tommy,
Since we realy don't have any JUDGES, I don't see any problem. After all some shoot the single Gamo Targets, and other shoot the print out 5 target per sheet.
Now I hope no one becomes angry with me, but I shoot it mounted horizontally, I never thought that it would matter ! But if your shooting better, I say NO !!!!! (Only Kidding)
It just might be a good idea if we did elect 5 judges to officially handle these concerns ??
Just my pellets worth..
