: Golden Antler Scope-New Price
: longislandhunter January 17, 2007, 02:26:58 AM
Was just checking out Optic Giant checking on those Golden Antler Scope again (I need 3 more) and saw that the price just went up to $43.95

I emailed Optics Giant 3 days ago asking when they were getting them back in stock and the next day received an email that they had them in stock.  I immediately ordered 3 of em, but yesterday got an email saying they had cancelled my order due to the fact that they couldn't get them from the manufacturer.  Now today they are listed at $43.95...................I'll bet if I ordered those 3 scopes now they'd have them in stock.......hmmm, now that's creative marketing............

I gave up trying to get one at the "GOOD" price from OpticsGiant. Ordered one from Optics Planet: $42.95 UPS included, cheaper than Natchez($45.-- with freight) or Midsouth( $48.-- with freight). Should have it tomorrow. The Accushot one piece scope mount I ordered from Pyramid is scheduled to be delivered By FedEx today! Ordered it last week and it shipped out on Monday, so I guess I didn't get the slow service some others have had.

Patience or money, don't have much of either, but didn't want to wait any longer!

Hey Ric,

I felt the same way you did and I also went ahead and ordered the scopes from Optics Planet.  I still had that 10% coupon from Optics Giant, which would've saved me a couple of bucks, but I was fed up with dealing with them so went with the "Planet".

I have to say I was really impressed with the service from Optics Planet !!  I received my confirmation email immediately after placing the order, which is usual for most companies, but then I was shocked to receive another email only a few hours later thanking me for the order and informing me that the items were packed and shipped.  This email also told me that a UPS tracking number would be sent to me shortly.  Sure enough, not more than an hour later I got a third email providing me with the UPS tracking number and listing contact email and phone numbers in case I ran into any problems or had any questions.  NOW THAT'S SERVICE :)

Anyway, I ordered a couple of Accushot 1 piece mounts a few days ago and I've been tracking them and they should arrive tomorrow.  Can't wait to put all the pieces togeather, got a couple of $74 Walmart Clearance Shadows I have to scope and sight in.

Good deal, Jeff. Guess I got into this AG thing a couple of weeks too late for all the good deals. My scope should be here tomorrow and when I get it sighted in, I'll take it out to the desert to see what I can hit. Maybe Sunday. ( NO clearance Shadows at wally world around here, still $117.

Jeff,

which mounts did you get? I ordered the medium 1-piece, as CDT said they were still available, and were shown, with 4 clamping screws, while the highs only come with 3 screws now.
Well. opened the package today and there's only 3 screws. I'll try it like this, if it moves, guess I'll fire up the drillpress and add 2 more, HA!

( Can't believe how nice and easy this forum is . Checked out the Yellow and a couple of others while doing the scope search. I like this the best. ) Put a post on the Miller Welding forum for the first time last week and someone immediately crawled all over me. Consolation came when I checked HIS profile and found him critical of almost everything out of his 22 posts; then a vet with 2,000 posts told him that possibly he could be wrong-22times! LOL None of that here.

Hey Ric,

I bought the same mounts I always do, the Accushot high profile 1 piece mount.  CDT is correct when he told you that the newer high mount model now has 3 clamping screws instead of the 4 found on the old models, but they have held just as well for me.  The medium height mounts don't work so well for me, I really prefer a higher mount I just find them much more comfortable and conducive to quick target acquisition.

Regarding the mounts you received,,,,, are you sure they sent you the medium height mounts?  I was not aware that the medium mounts now have 3 clamping screws, I thought they still had 4.

Anway, like I said, I have a couple of the newer 3 clamping screws mounts on several rifles and they've held just fine.  Just make sure you clean all the surfaces (mount and rifle), including the clamping screw threads, with denatured alcohol prior to installation and be sure to use the Blue loc-tite and let it set for 24 hours before firing.  You shouldn't have any problems.  I also put a drop of the loc-tite where the mount base grips the dovetail slots or the raised scope rail.

As for this forum being such a nice place to hang,,,, you are absolutely correct on that count !! Fantastic bunch of people without a doubt.  I spend as much time as I can spare on this forum and it provides me with much enjoyment.

Take care, good shooting.

When you add in the shipping charges on the eBay auctions is winds up being the same price as buying it off the website.  Glad to see they have a bunch of em though, I'm thinking of getting another 1 or 2 so I have them on hand for my next airguns.

Jeff

The mount I got was an Accushot RGPM2PA-25M4 Medium Profile. Scope got in this afternoon and I stuck it on this evening. Will have to get some Loctite tomorrow and remount it( no perverse comments. please-LOL). Tried about 100 CPL's at 30 yards. Found out that while I can see the target clearly now, I've got lots of work to do on technique. What magnification do you like to use at this range?

Hey Ric,

9 x is just about my favorite magnification when shooting 25 to 30 yards.   Even if I have a 12 power scope on the rifle I usually dial it to 9x, just seems to be the perfect magnification for me. I'll use 12x  sometimes when target shooting, but at that level the scope "wobble" is just that much more evident and effects my shooting.

My accushot  mounts arrived yesterday and my scopes arrived this afternoon.  If I get a chance I'll try to mount the scopes tomorrow.

Best of luck with the new scope and mount.

Hi Jeff

I just order two 3-9x32AO Gold  Antlers from Optics Plant and would like to know where you ordered your Accushot high profile 1 piece mounts from? I would like to get a couple my self. It would save me a lot of time not having to surf the AG sites.

Thanks for the help and get to sighting thems there guns and keep us updated.

Hey Glenn,

I usually order them from Pyramydair.com

Sometimes they are out of stock but they seem to have them now. If you ask around perhaps someone on the forum has a valid 10% off coupon for Pyramydair, it helps with the shipping.
