: Does anyone here have an IZH 61?
: Brod_Man April 22, 2009, 08:55:32 AM
i know i keep dancing back and forth, on what gun i want to get, but i really love this gun. I keep coming back to it, and it hink i can take some starlings with it. Its cheap accurate, and i like its looks. I was wondering, if i could see some real world pictures of what one looks like. Also if anyone had any negative comments about them i would appreciate hearing them. Thanks again.

I sold mine. It shoots pretty sweet but not with a lot of power. You could shoot a bird but keep it less than 15yrds. It's mainly good at 10 M to poke holes in paper.

Now the Baikal 512 in .22, another story. I haven't shot but about 150 rounds through it and it is still not able to hold less than 2" at 25yrds. I think it will eventually settle down and be a 1" at 25 yrd gun. PLENTY of power to dispatch a bird or squirrel at that range if you keep it in the body and don't go for a head shot.

I'll take it out back tonight and shoot a group for you and then put it up for sell cheap. I got a few more types of pellets in since I bought it so maybe it's like one of them.

Stay tuned.

There is no interlock to prevent you from accientally dry firing on shot #6...the magazine only holds 5 pellets.

You need to be realistic about low powered rifles and what you can do with them.
Because they are low powered, their range is limited, and you have to be more accurate in your shot placement.

I figured, since this is a 10m gun it has the accuracy do dispatch starlings, and sparrows at close ranges. Thanks again.
