: 1377 peep sight?
: WMassShooter April 28, 2009, 02:41:28 PM
I flipped the blade on the sight around to the peep side.

How do you sight it at arms length? What is the proper sight picture?

Any advice on using the peep?

The top of front post should be dead center in the middle of the peep. If you don't shoot with both eyes open, this is a good time to start. Closing the other eye makes it harder to see through the one you shoot with.

Target shootingusually uses tighter apertures in a peep sight, hunters prefer a bigger diameter. More light, bigger field of view, better situational awareness, at the cost of some precision.

I can't really get the hang of the six o'clock sight picture, I guess from shooting rifle too long. I bisect the target, or bull, with the top of the front post. I just find this more repeatable.

The peeper is generally used with a shoulder stock.

Heck....I didn`t even know the 1377 had a peep sight....and that just flipping the rear sight over will give me one.  duh

yea I am just getting used to shooting with open sights.  should you shoot with both eyes open?   I am right handed and I am left eye dominant and am wondering if I should shoot lefty?
