Hi, My question is this. I have a crosman 2289 . I have a Crosman steel breach, 24" barrel, FTP and valve installed. I have read that the longer bolts push the pellet past the transfer port instead of the pellet sitting almost above it. So with the air coming up behind the pellet does this increase fps or it just a bit more efficient. Also that extra length does it make loading pellets even harder than now. The loding poprt is not that big to start with. Right now I'm sighted in at 30 yards and except for the odd flyer have about 1.2" groups. Trying to tighten that up with minor additions.
Thanks from Canada

You get a few more FPS out of the mod as well as a bit more consistency. As far as loading, the probe is usually only 1/8" to 3/16" longer than factory. Loading has never been a problem on any of my crosman rifles or pistols with probed bolts.
