We are getting ready for a total refurbish on this really accurate but tired DaisyAvanti its a father son project and would appreciate any Web Links to a decent info where someone else has already done all this before( honing cylinder ,seals grease/oiling, things to look out for /not to do?) or for that matter any info that would help us out on this one.
We did find the "daisy part order schematic" when ordering new parts but it is such poor quality!. I did also find the pilkington air guns trigger mod which we are planning to do unless not a good idea?
The plan includes doing a complete stock refinish my son wants digital camo which im not too sure about sound to hard! I would like a slick, nice smelling, high quality wood finish so any thoughts on that would be helpful too:) If we draw straws on that one I will hopefully win he he:) All will be appreciated , Thanks in advance, Tony.

I think this is just what you're looking for, Tony: http://www.network54.com/Forum/79537/message/1234302331/Daisy+853+Reaseal+-+A+Pictorial+Essay I used this when I overhauled my 853. Regarding finishes, hard to beat a classic oil finish. If you want something a little more durable, you could go with a polyurethane, I happen to like the old Varathane Black Label. Another one you might consider is Teak Oil. In addition to being durable and easy to repair, it's also non-slip. The more coats, the nicer. Good luck.
