The other day I installed a Golden Antler scope on one of the 2 Walmart clearance $74 Shadows I picked up a while ago. I was curious to see if the rings that came with the scope would hold so I left the Accushot 1 piece mount on my workbench and used the supplied mounts. I went through my usual routine of cleaning eveything with denatured alcohol, using blue loc-tite and tightening everything down real good. This rifle came with the "euro style" scope stop, ya know that piece of metal screwed into the receiver top, at least that's what I've heard it called. This shadow, and the othe clearance rifle I bought both have the same stop and they also have what looks like a pre drilled stop pin hole also. Anyway, gave the loc-tite 2 days to dry and today I finally got to sight the rifle in.
Started out with superdomes and with a few minutes had the scope sighted in for 25 yards. The superdomes weren't grouping that well but I planned on test firing every type of .177 pellet I had so I got to the task at hand. Also chrony'd the rifle while shooting, results were very pleasing :)
JSB Predators , Beeman Crow magnums , Crosman Premier Hollow Points and Gamo Rockets (BB tip) all shot dime sized bulls eye groups.
Crosman Pointed pellets shot quarter sized groups.
Superdomes and Gamo tomahawks gave the worst showing, the rifle just doesn't seem to like em.
As for the scope and rings? So far so good, I can't detect any movement yet and after checking all the hardware found everything to be nice and tight. I have another Golden Antler scope that is destined for the remaining $74 clearance gun, probably install that in a few days. I hope that rifle shoots as sweet as this one did today. I hit the local Walmarts again the other day searching for any more clearance shadows but none were to be found. I'll keep looking though, ya never know :)

Yup I have the Golden Antler S1K with "Euro" scope stop combo and no problems at all. For what about $120 after I lubed and trigger jobbed the thing it's hard to beat for 2X the cost, one of my favorite guns now, except for the....ouch...synthetic stock....I'm a wood snob I guess:)
