Air rifles have come a long way since I used to plink with a .22 at 12 years old, am 53 now, is it worth it to sink $250 -$300 in to my 220 Hunter, say a 22 barrel, super tune,Compsite stock and ( ANY) other goodies I might need to turn it into a good hunter, I would like about 800 or more fps in .22, or just put $500 out on a good .22 Break Barrel. Thanks ahead of time for any and all help.

First let me welcome you the GTA.... nice to have you with us...... now on to your question.....
Your not going to get 800 or more FPS out of a 220 powerplant. You will probably get in the mid to high 600's and a tune will certainly make it a smooth shooter, but forget about the 800 or more FPS.......
My advice, based on what you specifically said you were looking for, would be to spend the money for a new .22 cal break barrel. There are a couple of guns out there that will give you FPS in the 800 FPS range, the RWS 350 Magnum, the TF-89, RWS 48, just to name a few......

hey chief and welcome to the forum. take a look at a mike melnic tuned b-28a in .22 they shoot in the low 800's a clone of the rws 350 mag. also read uup on shooting magnum springers. mags take a little practice before you can really enjoy them. peace
