Looked out my skylights into the trees in the backyard and saw 2 pigeons perched up high. Ran down to the basement, loaded the old Sheridan Blue Streak .20 with a domed pellet, snuck outside, cranked the scope to 9 power, used the corner of the house for a rest, put the crosshairs on the chest of bird #1, took a long deep breath, held my breath, squeezed ever so slowly,,,,, BAM,,,,, a perfect miss. Birds departed.
Had another pellet in hand so loaded her up again, leaned against the house and waited. Sure enough, another one makes a pit stop. Same routine, squeezed gently, BAM,,,, another perfect miss. Birds flew off.
Thought the scope might be off so went and got another pellet, loaded, aimed at a target in the back yard and hit it dead center. Oh well, I guess ya gotta miss in order to appreciate the hits. :) Tomorrow another day.

Jeff maby the house was'nt sighted in or leaning. Was there a wind , did you feel any extra gravity. Cmon give me something buddy LOL. Ed

Hey Ed,
House was straight :) Wind was calm, however you may have something with the gravity theory,,,, there is a full moon in 24 hours so perhaps the increased gravitational pull did do it. Nah, wishful thinking on my part. I keep running those shots through my head and I have to admit I think I just got to excited. I've heard of buck fever, but pigeon fever??

I've had rabbit fever.
First two shots went right over his head. Third shot (when I'd realized I was not doing it right...) hit him in the eye.
It happens.
