: Question Posed...
: TexasShooter72 June 09, 2009, 07:49:00 AM
YOU and your friend...  are journalists.  You are both of either Chinese and/or Korean descent.

You have an opportunity to cover a story that will put you very close to enemy territory.  The enemy's being- North Korean(Nuclear) Communists- America's BIGGEST threat as of late!

Without getting political, it's a common sense question.  Do you:

A)  Think with your bleeding liberal heart and go over there to make a difference in your Western(as opposed to THEIR Communist) Eastern world?

B)  Go over there knowing full good and well that your life may be in danger but defy such rationalism thinking you'll be bailed out by Ambassador Angelina Jolie or New Mexico Governor, Bill Richardson?

C)  Tell your boss to take a long walk off a short pier due to the potential dangers that you stand being captured and used a political pawn in a nuclear arms race and simply return to your day-to-day life?

OR-

D)  Hold an airgun shoot(and BBQ) and watch from afar as others(who aren't so smart) put themselves in harms way and are required to have the drive-by media post pictures of your bad-decision-making-sorry-ass all over every national news outlet in an attempt to get you freed from the clutches of our enemies?

Just a thought.

Don't matter if they were Chinese, Korean, White or Black...etc.  It's their bosses fault to send their journalists there knowing full well the potential for something like this to happen.

Personally I would go to the airgun shoot and Bar B Q.

Well, once again I am not posting this as a potential feud of political interest.  It's about common sense...  and those who have NONE!

Well, as in ALL vocations, we prostitute ourselves to advance in our chosen profession.

When in the service, you attack the enemy when you are told, where you are told, as you are told, and pray to come out of the battle, with as few casualties as possible.

A reporter must accept assignments that are offered, or their career is ended. Those that accept, and return with the story, are praised and promoted. Those that fail are praised for the courage and dedication to THR NEWS !

Even if we work for ourselves, we will perform tasks that we would never do if we worked for someone else.

In all cases we accept the rules of our carrier choices, and live or die with our choices.

I believe Ling would have done anything to become as famous as Lisa, sibling rivalry !

At my age, I'm a "D" kind of guy :o , I'd love a BBQ and Shoot !!!!

My girlfriend and I both agree with you whole-heartedly.  Although not the case for everyone your description of what some folks do to keep a job makes all the sense in the world.

Thankyou for your contribution today!

Now...   about that BBQ!!!!!

Yes Matt,

But I said Career, not a job ! A job is normally a vocation that you stumble into when you need money ! A career is a job that you plan to enter, when you find it.

Many people find a job when they are in search of their career, but due to life's little jokes, for one reason or another, these jobs end up being your career.

When one finds the career of their choosing, they will do anything to succeed, or at least not to fail .

Knowing how the North Koreans so warmly welcome  foreigners within their borders, who in their right mind would try to slip across it?  They are one of the most repressive, secretive countries in the world.  To think you are going to sneak into North Korea without risking severe punishment is either monumentally naive or just plain stupid.  My son did a paper on North Korea a few years ago.  The BEST information we could get was from the State Department.............and it was about fifteen years out of date!

Since they work for A. Gore, - they were on a mission to inform/educate the folks about global warming, - something NK will undoubtedly "embrace" fully. ... What a couple of losers, ...

: RedFeather June 10, 2009, 01:49:23 AM
I don't know nor particularly care who they work for.  Anyone who is at least passing familiar with North Korea's strict doctrines would never think of trying to sneak in.  It's bad enough you get in legally and THEN they pull something on you.  The most paranoid regime on earth.  Even the Chinese have a tough time dealing with them, and they are N. Korea's ally.

Well Matt,  enough of this friendly banter.  The entire nation is sitting on the edge of their seats and wants to know.    When is the BB-Q.  Times awasting.  Will this be traditional Texas BB-Q  ie. a whole steer? Or a couple of whole hogs?  Or both?  Will you also provide the side dishes?

I will bring a knife and fork.  No sporks.  And a napkin.

The Great 2009 TexasShooter72 BB-Q and AG shoot.

The BBQ will be at the next NTAGM shoot!  We're always BBQ-ing schtuff!!!  Perhaps we could do it Teddy Nugent style and whatever we kill hits the grill!
