Well Fellow Shooters, our number is declining, and I know how difficult this match is. The only reason I keep shooting it is because it provides such a great challenge ! Heck, I call it the "Humored 15 Match", cause it's such a pain in the behind ! But you can't beat the challenge of it !!!! So let's all give em heck, concentrate, breathe and give your ALL !

Happy 20th anniversary to the Steriod 15 match.....one of the hardest matches in the GTA Shooting Match roster.
Still here Big_Bill....still plugging away. Shot this match and the Open Rifle - 10M match real early in the morning trying to be ahead of the rain. Using the Gamo Big Cat for this match and is quite difficult due to its light weight....talk about barrel sway!!!! That's why I didn't even break the 50% mark.....yikes.
Rifle: Gamo Big Cat, Sights: Gamo 3X9-40mm 6X, Pellet: .177 Crosman Hunting, Distance: 10 Meters,
Position: Stand/Off Hand, Temp: +20C, Cloudy, 10kph wind, SCORE: 73/150

This is by far the TOUGHEST GTA Shooting Match. My last shot was a hole in one. GTA Steroid 15 10m Match #20 * Air Arms TX200 MkIII .22cal w/Bushnell Banner 6-18x50 AO Scope * RWS Meisterkuglen WC 22cal 14gr * Score 151 1X

Very nice shooting, Bill. I don't think I could score 150 even from a bench rest!!!! ...much less, standing off-hand!!!
CONGRATS!!

100 degrees today! Don't like to be out in that anymore than I have to. Sky clouded over so I thought I'd pop out for a quick shoot. Unfortunately the winds have picked up too. After I was done I realized in my hurry to get this done and back in the AC I had forgotten to reset the AO focus on the scope from less than 7 for indoor practice back to 10. Don't know if it would have helped though....
Rifle: Crosman 760 with a BSA 4x32AO scope
Ammo: Crosman wadcutters - 5 pumps
Distance: 10 meters - standing
Score: 93

Tried my new peep out on this match this morning. I'm pleased with it so far. Will probably shoot this match more often since it's close range. A little more practice and I might give you scopies a run for yer money! :)

CPHP

score 65 (yuck!)

Ronbeaux....just shocking. I thought only Truman and I get scores so low heh heh. Ok....I see you're using a B3 with iron sights....not that Anschutz LG250 with peep sights....all is forgiving.
-
The little B3 shoots better than that if you use a prop. But the trigger is sooo stuff it makes it dificult to have that 'Steroid 15' accuracy.
I'm yanking it down again to day and do nothing but trigger work to it.

You guys are crazy,, I got 39 points,, YAY :D I guess it's a little harder because my gun is off weight because of the 2+ inch barrel missing
-
Crazy?? This is a tough match! 15 shots in 15 minutes at a 1" circle off-hand. Just think of all the hand eye practice you get. That way when a varmit runs out there and stops with "Bring it Bucko" look, you can nail him. I could't see your zeros on the target but I bet they get closer each week. I could shoot it with the Anschutz, but I don't rely on it to plink or hunt. Besides BC would wax our butt anyway. I think he must be a robot.(Sorry BC, no harm intended in calling you a robot. but D********m!)
I shoot it for fun and you guys feel free to lay it on thick if I score bad.
-
Yeah I was working on my scanning techniques last night, I think that this looks a little better... I was also working on my crown a little more..... We'll see what it will produce next time.... I think I got the all time low record :o :D ... That 10 is also kinda iffy, it just bearly broke the line, so say 38 or 39
-
See. If you were to superimpose a bird on almost any one of those targets you would have drawn blood with a center mass shot. And the rule is, if it touches it is scored higher. So that is a 10.
-
Hey Guys that was a tough match. I will be glad when I am able to shoot again. I will try my best to score at least a 10..:) Way to go guys.
It is all about the fun of shooting and personal goals.

3rd match of the night despite early attempts to avoid the last minute stuff. Thankfully I can shoot inside....
I had planned to shoot this with my new HW97 but the scope/mount/POI Shift/recoil (me learning what recoil is again) have taken there toll. I shot the Steroid target many times but there were too many surprises. When I decided I had time to do shoot this one for real I went for the trusty TSS.

Well, I sprained my left wrist, and if that's not a good enough excuse for my score, I broke it ! Just kidding !
I did the very best that I could, and it did hurt a bit.

I don't know Bill... this is one sport where the right cast just might be an asset :-)
But seriously, keep it a lose as the doc allows but don't overdo it. Last bad sprain I had- I basically ignored (other than compensating for the pain). My leg has never been to same. Good luck.
