I knew it was commin tho.. They have been laying supers off for 3 months now.. I was one of the last ones left.. I had already secured another job tho because I knew my days were numbered.. My company hasn't had a paying job since Obama took office.. Comercial construction has come to a standstill because of no public spending... Owners don't want to build a new building untill the economy rebounds and they know they can sell thier svcs.
They did me right with a severence package and time to secure the new job, I told them to lay me off first cuz I had a line on another one.. INSTEAD OF LAYING OFF SOMEONE THAT WAS NOT PREPARED....which I already had done.. Its just a phisical and a paper shuffle now...
The new job pays a little less but I do ok anyway..It cuts into my airgun fund somewhat, but hey I'm employed right...
Life goes on...

Whelp, guess that means you'll just have to do more fishin' and beer chuggin' until you start the other job, right? I'm feelin' you buddy! Sorry to hear about that. I'm leaving work now... gotta go pack my kaka and get ready for the drive tomorrow. 10 hours to Mom's house. My favorite restaurant on this planet is right in her back yard!
El Paragua in Espanola, New Mexico. Killer... KILLER... KILLER Mexican that can't be rivaled anywhere!
Gonna go see John Cafferty & the Beaver Brown Band too!
Things will will start lookin' up for you Randall... I promise!

Glad you were prepared and had options. Wish you well, buddy.

Bad news and good news, eh?
Hope you can "take advantage of the crisis"...

Hey Randall, glad it has worked out for you. I am in commercial construction as well. It's dead here in NY too. I actually had to downgrade after being laid off in Nov. just to keep working.
Lots of luck with your new job
