Decided to to make the Shadow Sport it,s own gun rack so out to THE SHOP. Threw a frame together and put a plywood back on it. Found some steel in my metal bin did a couple bends, drilled some holes and bolted them up. I was,nt satisfied, sat down and scketched out some stencels. Mountains ,tree's etc. and got out the camo paint. That,s better and the gun,s happy to. Theres some small trophys hanging there and the laser site you see on the barrel is on the B3 now. Got a laserlight combo for it waiting to be mounted and the Shadows got a new fabbed muz break which is on now.:) hunting Ed

Thanks Ric , my only problem is now I,ve got to mount more racks for the rest of my collection, lifes rough hehehe. Ed
-
LOL Ed, and I like your backdrop as well. Nice looking Shadow with that shroud.. Lookin good buddy...:) By the way. I have mentioned it in the past that most of those good ole boys in NZ, use the Shadow, 177 and .22 for most all there game hunting. Thats all Sean ever uses for Possum and Turkeys..:) They use night ligts mounted on top of there scopes. Most of there hunting is at night. WOW!

Thanks Gene, I seen Sean's mag light mount, what a monster.! I think that I would have to hire a kid just to haul my gun around hehe, bet it light's up the night though. Ed

That's why I could never have one of dim on me Shadow.... :) I would not be able to hold the dang thing up and steady a bead at the same time....:) Thats where CDT comes in....hehe He always holds and aims for me and I get to pull the trigger... LOL

Good work buddy!
I've been dreaming of my own gun rack, but first I have to figure out where to put it. Wife wont let it be out in the open, garage isn't "secure" enough with kids around, and what's the use of a nice wooden gun rack that sits in a walk in closet? I might make an upright gun rack like we had in boot camp, ya know just to sorta "steady" them while they mostly lean against the wall? Cedar would be nice, wonder if cedar eats up gun bluing like Oak? Pine, too cheap. Poplar, too, ...Poplar..... Walnut, too expensive! Maybe straight grain maple? Ok, two tough decisions, "where?" and "what wood?".......hehe!
Again, cool stuff....you're definately the camo paint man!

Actually, cedar would probably be fine, Dano. Oak is a problem because of the tannin in the wood, cedar is oily but not corrosive. Ever hear of Port Orford cedar? Look for info on the web, it's cool stuff. Later.

Thanks Dano, I have to add more racks , more gun's and more on the way.:) I wonder if the wife would mind a room devoted to gun racks and guns hehe. That's right I've got some in the dog house. Ed
-
just do what I do sneak the new gun in when she's not lookin' then claim that you've had that old thing since before we got married its been buried in the garage....shed...brother was usin' it.. ect... ect... hehe
-
The little lady knows how many guns I have better then I do, nice thought though hehe. Ed

Like the assemblage of trophies hanging from your rack. How are you cleaning the skulls? Are you boiling them and then soaking in hydrogen peroxide?
-
Yes Mike, and when that proccess is done I clean them with a little dish soap and a old soft toothbrush. I also have possum, rabbit, raccoon etc skull's. I like to study them, it give's me a idea about penatration area's. The skull hanging with the grackle skull's is a beaver skull. Ed
-
I have a grackle skull sitting on top of an ant bed at the moment. Momma's out of town for the weekend, maybe now's a good time to boil that little SOB.

LOL, for sure guy.Ed
