: Have you tried one?

Though i already know the answer to this question I just want to get the opinion of members here about AIR STRIPPERS. Have you tried one?

I've just made one to analyze how it really works and I'm having a good time right now. My G-1 is still loud (haven't noticed any loss in loudness level compared to plain barrel) but the groupings that I'm getting are much tighter. How tight? about 4 out of 5 pellets go through the same hole at 7 yards. This is another new learning for me.

Yes ; I've had a couple of rifles that had air strippers on them . What they are supposed to do is remove most of the air at the end of the barrel to reduce the turbulence behind and around the pellet as it exits . The air that's removed is usually directed in a manner that reduces muzzle flip . A lot of design goes into a good air stripper . Some will actually make your air rifle "sound" louder , especially to the shooter since the air and sound is directed up and to the rear . They are more than just a muzzle brake . kirby

Thanks Kirby, you know your stuff. Hey Charlie, thanks for the concern but technically an air stripper is quite different from the other "stuff". If anyone had a personal experience testing or using one they would find out that at times it even makes the rifle sound "louder". The advantage of letting the pellet pass through from the barrel without much turbulence is worth trying. I just thought that a lot of guys here knows this since this stuff is not new to shooting. Thanks guys. End of thread.
