I plan to be out in the feild this weekend shooting, not in my basement! So, need to get a few of these done. 2 last night (one on another forum) and 2 tonight...

Stuck with the Beeman theme :-) and  pulled out my P3. Nobody wanted to buy it so....
Definitely need to use the better pellets or a clean backer from now on. My score was a bit of a guess tonight. This gun just doesn't have the power to cut clean holes with these pellets.

Beeman P3
Iron Sights
Beeman HP's .177
10M, 1 hand
80

Pretty good shooting.  If you did not have that flyer in the 3 ring you would be upper 80s.

Thanks. That was the first shot! I totally forgot how light that trigger is.

2nd match (First one was a rifle match) of the day. After shooting 20 shots to get back the feel of pistol shooting and the Crosman 1377 I did this match....which I'm very happy with; 8 out of 10 shots were in the "black".

Pistol: Crosman 1377, Sights: Iron sights, Pellet: .177 Crosman WadCutter, Position: Stand/One Hand,

Powerplant: Multi-pumper, Distance: 10 Meters, Temp: +24C, Sun, No wind, SCORE: 74/100

ALWAYS shoot a practice target FIRST.  Even if only 5 shots.
That way you also find and can fix any "issues" before you shoot for record.
If I switch from my Hurricane to my match pistol, the grip, trigger and shooting behavior are so different that I would totally mess up the match pistol shooting w/o a practice target to readjust my shooting.

Beeman P-17 w/BSA Red Dot
RWS .177 R-10 Match Wadcutters
10 meter  2H/ Standing
Score:  88*/100

Put the Red Dot on this week and used two hands.  I guess my medications don't work as good in this heat (98 - 101).  The RD helps my vision problem, but I'm not able to hold it with one hand anymore.  So please record my scores in the * asteric * section.  :)

Hey, if we ever have a 10m Pistol Benchrest match, sign me up!

Ron,

I FEEL your PAIN.  It's been 100F+ here in Houston all week. Then when it cools off to .... say 95F in the evening just before dark ... the skeeters are out in swarms. I don't know what's worse: sweat or skeeters in eyes. I may not even shoot this week unless I catch a break before Sunday night.  I REALLY envy all the guys with INDOOR 10M ranges!

Hey George,

I did try it....right in the middle of the match. I normally pump it first and then cock and load. The last 4 shots I did the reverse and the results were the same for me. So I'm guessing yourpistol mighthave a little leak.....maybe some dust got in-between the seal.

I feel for you guys.....I can't stand those kinds of heat......and the bugs are worst!!!!

First time in 4 days that I've not shot a "bb" gun. Yesterday was alot warmer....80F but had threatening clouds....and actually only sprinkled for 5 minutes in the early afternoon. I shot real early to avoid the heat and be ahead of the rain, and I should've went to hook up with some airgun buddies to shoot later in the day.....but I didn't want to drive 12 miles and get rained out. I missed my chance.

Today (Sat.) was just too iffy.....cooler though....abit of sun and moving clouds with slight sprinkles all day. The sprinkles would last a few minutes but the sky would not clear up.....more than a few times I wanted to load up my car and go shoot....but didn't do it.

Two more matches for me this week....I'll see if I can do them tomorrow....the 5 Meter Pistol is no problem.....I can do that in the basement. The 10 Meter Multi Pump Rifle I can do that in the backyard. If the weather is abit more stable....I'll hook up with those guys and do some long distance plinking....30 to 40meter distances........

Well, it was worth a try.  Anyway, your group looks pretty good - centered, and uniform.  You just need a steadier hold and/or some trigger work to tighten it up some.

I've got other problems now besides the heat, humidity, & skeeters down here.  I must have let some blue loctite get into the breech/trigger somewhere.  I got tired of the bolt handle loosening, so I used a little blue loctite on it last night.  This morning, the breech was "sticky" and the trigger had developed a funny catch to it.

I tried shooting the 5M this morning - what a fiasco! I guess I'm through with matches until FALL and cooler weather.  I really envy your nice summers in Canada.
