: Barska 3-12x40 airgun scope
: kirby999 June 22, 2009, 02:15:09 AM
I've owned one of these for several years and it's been on all types of rifles from powder burners to springers . The image would focus pretty good for what I paid for , IIRC less than $50 ; but I could never get the reticule cleared up in it . I'd seen where Barska was building some higher end scopes , so I thought I would order another for $62 and change shipped . When I got it Saturday I was excited when I looked through it at 10 meters and focused the reticle , it cleared up. Yesterday I toook it out side at 30 yards and tried to focus it and it failed . I couldn't getthe image to clear up enough for me to use it my eyes . So it went back to Midwayusa this morning and I ordered another Simmons WTC . It cost me shipping both ways , but it's better than eating the whole cost and who knows I could have gotten a decent one . kirby

the barska ridgeline series has better optics.  around $160.  soon, you won't have to deal with midway for your optics needs...i hear there is a new optics dealer getting started....HHHmmmmm!

The Ridgeline 4-12x42 riflescope (AC10744) is built to measure up to the toughest performance standards.

This riflescope is designed with the latest optical technology and includes special features such as illuminated dual-color reticle, multi-coated optics and true one-piece tube construction.

The scope also features BARSKA’s “Accu-Lock” system which utilizes a coil spring positioned within the scope to securely lock the inner tube. This system allows the scope to stay locked dead-on to the target shot after shot.

Serious hunters can truly count on this rifle scope to provide the brightest and sharpest image from edge-to-edge, in addition to shot-to-shot consistency and unbeatable resistance to even the harshest weather conditions.

Constructed from top-quality components and assembled under strict supervision, this model is a reliable performer that will withstand years of rugged use.

Roger that model of Barska scope could easily be mistaken for a boat anchor... Jeeess it would probably be a nice scope without the light thingy on it.
: that's a good one....

I got a Barska 3X12-50mm IR scope and it's pretty clear.  I don't know what "line" it's from...could be a cheap model....I don't think it would be a mid or high-end one....only paid $64.00U.S not including taxes at Ganders last year.  Don't know if it's airgun (Springer) rated....so had it on my PCP air rifle.
