I just got this QB78 from Mike and I thought while I am re carving the stock  thought  I would take some pictures so you can see how it's done. right now it's waiting to be varnished  12 coats to go. howie

Hi Timmy you got good hands you should be able to do anything I can do just make sure to draw out what you want to do on the stock before grinding it to shape and leave the but plate on this way it is an exact fit to the stock also I've found  in the depot and low's the sanding disks for my 4 inch side wheel 100 gt. or 130 gt. works fine before I used to take a hard disk as a back up and use the 4 inch dark red disks for shaping the stocks but you needed to grind down the disk mounting nut so you could use the grinder for flush cutting we did a lot of work with this rig on wood boats. howie  PS I like your Ruger and am waiting to see  the finished pics.
