I was out plinking last night and lost zero on the Whisper. Had just bought some new Destroyers so didn't think much of it. Then I couldn't get a steady zero back. What's wrong. Hmmm. Well I noticed a seeming drop in power. Check it out tommorrow I guess. Well today Same problem. except I compared my shooting with the SS1K I recently home tuned. Pellets good, shooter good, SS1K was blasting the cans with the Destoyers, it must be the whisper. Did all I could to check the scope and all seemed well. Down to the compressor, disassembled and found a broken gas cylinder seat. It looks to be made out of nylon or something similar. Didn't take out the piston yet to check the seal, have to get ready for the 4th. I will have to call PA Monday to see if they can help with a seat ( I bought it from them a couple of years ago). I'll keep you all posted on the repairs and what is available. I 'm sure other gas rammers will have the same problem eventually. I'll post pic's when I can figure it out. Later, John

I'm glad I chose a regular spring when I bought my
22 cal Whisper.
Was almost tempted to go with the Venturi route.......

My .22 Whisper has held up fine since I installed the air venturi. It does have more power and recoil than with the original Gamo spring. Got about 4 - 5 hundred pellets through it since the swap.

When Pyramyd installed my gas spring, they included the original spring in the box. Nice to have a backup. Good luck, keep us posted.

Paul Just wondering, did they send back the spring guide also or did they cut it down for the piston retainer(with the cross pin). Mine looks like it is a new part. Thanks John

Mine is still wrapped up in plastic. I took a look at it before I boxed up the gun to send to Gene for him to look over. It looks like everything was there as it came out of the rifle. I thought the spring guide looked a little short. But I'm betting that Pyramyd used new parts on the gas ram.
