I am going to go out in the morning to do some rabbit hunting. I don't know if anyone's paid attention but it's cold here in the NE with daytime temps in the mid 20's. I haven't hunted rabbits at this time of year. Normally I see rabbits mostly at daybreak as they are crepuscular but I am wondering, with the cold if it's be better to hunt closer to mid day. Can anyone say if cold weather like this changes the habits or rabbits?

Hello Adam, the first thing to take into account during winter rabbit hunting is COVER and it is less abundent. The beds of small creeks and area's around them often have thick cover when most everything else is bare, great to hunt in late season. Clear cut's , field edges and dont overlook those fallen tree's.Food, rabbit's dont want to be to far from home, so if you see one you know home is near by. Set up camp and watch.Grasses, crops or roots and if in farm country they will concentrate around harvested grain fields, a farm is a goldmine for em. Find the food and you find the rabbit.Cold front's and precipitation impact hunting conditions, rain, more so then any other condition, they like to sit tight. Rabbit's will also find cover in windy conditions too. Rabbits move a lot very early and late in the day but I've seen and taken my share in the middle of the day, if their hungry they'll be out.
