I have an .22 fx cyclone, with hill pump and moisture filter for humidity ... I am also new this year to the darkside, unable to resist the force:) I am curious to know how everyone stores there PCP when not using it. I have been leaving a minimum 160 in the tank , sometimes I fill to 200 before putting it away so I can grab and go. I remove the 8 shot magazine and in doing so the gun is cocked but no pellet, should I fire it to release pressure and then store it? Is there any need to check tank/moisture or lubricate anything? all comments welcome, Tony.

I'm also new to "The Dark Side".....been using a Hill pump & DryPac with a .22 Marauder. I've been storing it @ 2600 psi, so I'm ready when I see any tree rats going after the bird feeders. I'd also be curious if this is too much pressure to store the gun at ??
I don't know how the cyclone works, but with the Marauder I can hold the bolt back.....pull & hold the trigger......then slide the bolt forward to uncock it..................Raoul

..keeping up with what the makers recommend and what type of valve seals they use is beyond me. Normally store them at lower pressure when they are going to be put away for more than a day or two (like 800 - 1000PSi).
Guess the only way to really know is to store it that way and see if it shoots as strongly later on as it did when you put it away. Valve stem seals seldom just blow, but they can take a set from long term storage at high rpessure and not perform as well as they once did.
The only specific warning I can remember was about Careers and Sumatras not caring for long term high pressure storage (high pressure being over 1000psi?).

Tony, it's better to leave your gun stored with pressure,I am sure when you recieved the gun it was probably close to half full,believe me they are not putting air in your gun because your a nice guy!!!LOL!! Chances are if you buy a pcp & it comes with no air in it,then the gun is probably leaking! I leave my guns close to full including my Infinity & there is no problem!

Thanks Joe, that makes sense then it seems that 1600 is the storage pressure for my PCP ...which is enough for a quick round of shots if need be, but certainly not maximum pressure. I normally dont let it get below 1500 before filling back up again anyway. I read somewhere that pump guns last longer if you give them a single pump before storing them also:) Thanks, Tony.

Tony, No problem,that's how I found out about the pressure in certain guns(pcp & pumps) I asked! I actually would leave three pumps in my pump up guns, I just figured if two heads were better then one,I figured three pumps were better then one!!!LOL! Sounds nutty but that's what I did!

I leave mine with pressure in them. 2-3 pumps in my multi pump pneumatics, and half full or so in my precharged pneumatics.
