I have been dealing with this question successfully for years without any difficulty at all, I refer to personswho like the Female persuasion, as MEN. I refer to the persons who like male persuasion as WOMEN. And those that can't decide as ITS ! Or persons with nondescript *_*_*_*_*_*ual preferences ! (P.N.S.P.)

Its worked for me for over 50 years, without confusion !
