Hey Guys,

I just opened up an  old CO2 pistol (a ROGER, made in Italy, an inexpensive BB gun) to replace the seals, and found several that I'm not sure what to do with.  There are four seals in all - one is an O-ring, so I've got that licked, but the others, including the seal at the piercing needle, are a much harder material.  Urethane?  These are not O-rings as much as thick gaskets.

Any idea what to use and where to get it?

yer can get square section O-rings..

Good tip, Kiwi.  I'll look at McMaster Carr for those.  The round O-rings I tried didn't work at the CO2 piercing pin seal, but they were not a great fit.  Just used what the hardware store had.

Here is something interesting - there was a seal between the piercing cap (made of brass) and the valve (zinc die-casting) that was nearly identical to two other seals, with one exception.  Due to its location, it could not receive lubrication introduced by oiling the tip of the CO2 cartidge.   It was in GREAT shape!  The other two were soft from oil exposure and trashed.  I don't know what oil was used on this gun (it has to be 20-30 years old and I just picked it up), but it obviously wrecked the seals over the years.  I guess what really surprised me was that one seal was PERFECT after all that time.
