: compressed spring OD'ers
: tjk August 02, 2009, 12:14:04 AM
Question for the tuners,...or the folks more mathematically inclined than I. Been wonderring how to measure the OD of a compressed main spring. Is there a mathmatical formula for this,..or would it be better to take a stick of all thread and compress a spring with washers and nuts to measure? tjk

(http://../jscripts/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-smile.gif)Hi Thomas,a 18 to 24 inch length of threaded rod, run rod thru spring and compress with washers and nuts. This would be a safe way to get all the measurements you want..........Bill(http://../jscripts/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-cool.gif)

Thanks Bill, I've been toying with a few ideas for more custom work on the 'dreaded' Hatsan made  rifles. I believe they have alot more potential than most folks think. My main objective,.....make them more 'scope friendly'!! LOL's We'll see!! tjk

they do tune up well...they are so bad that a little work
makes a big diffrents...my mod 75 got new guides and
a top hat/front guide witch it didnt have..the only trick was
the new rear guide and rear plug system so I could retaine
the saftey unit...
