: New .177 cal 1250 chrony results...
: February 17, 2007, 10:06:22 AM
Ok, here are the chrony results for the Gamo 1250 for anyone who is interested.
I don't know all the pellet weights so I will just leave that part out. It is easy enough to find pellet weights if you really need them though. Here goes,
Crosman pointed:1185,1168,1186,1182,1145
Beeman hollow points, the ones with the special coating:1246,1236,1195,1233,1224
German round balls:1102,1094,1090,1065,1121
Beeman Kodiak extra heavy: 996,988,987,1002,990
Logun penetrators:1064,1063,1066,1077,1070
Beeman crow mags:1082,1085,1098,1085,1087
JSB predators:1139,1147,1156,1154,1146
Gamo tomahawks:1192,1182,1186,1170,1195
CPHP's:1186,1185,1181,1185,1191
CP ultra mag:995,995,986,992,978
That's all the ones I tested, I also shot some Raptors just for giggles: 1476,1462,1483, and I shot one RWS R-10 lite, it went 1230.
This rifle is still pretty much brand new and I didn't do any shooting for accuracy but the results clearly show that most of the pellets I tried were supersonic and probably wouldn't do very well anyway. Don't let these numbers sway anybody interested in getting this rifle. Do your research before your purchase and weigh all your options. That's all I have for now, thanks for looking

The one thing I am noticing on this rifle is the breech seal is getting beat up real bad. I am being careful to seat each pellet well into the bore but it is still all torn up. Anyone know where to get more seals?

...you could load 2 or 3 lighter pellets... that would keep 'em subsonic and give you a shotgun effect to boot!

Well, on second, thought, maybe it's not the best idea I've ever had...

Wow... thats pretty swift ! I wonder how that stacks up against a RWS 350.
Anyone chrony'd a 350 so we can compare numbers?

My .177 RWS 350 is shooting these pellets at;

Gamo Tomahawks  1097
Crossman heaveys 910
Crossman Hp's  1095
Beeman FTS   986
Crossman Lites  1140
Gamo Raptors  1395
Beeman FTS's are the most accurate in my 350.

Thanks Rich, well the 350 is right up there then.
I tell you though after spending the day shooting my CFX yesterday, I'm having second thoughts about getting
a 1250 or 350, it shoots so well.
I think I'll wait for it to get back from you and see what it's like after the tune before making up my mind on any
of this. .... heck I might just get a CFX Royal to satisfy my wood craving hehe!  :D ..... or I see that Airguns of Arizona
sells the RWS 460, it's an under lever as well and looks pretty sexy (a bit expensive though) plus their specs are
way overstated according the RWS web sight: http://diana-airguns.de/index.php?id=132&L=1&width=1152&height=864
hmmmm drool drool  :p

If you like underlevers, check out the Beeman HW 77 and 97!  I also have a CFX, I actually sold my RWS 350 .22, just too much gun for me.  So I intend to replace it with an HW 77.  Guy in Texas has one for sale, hoping the deal goes through, it'll save me about $100.  But either way, I'm getting one.  Later.

I just ordered a pair of B40's one in .22 and the other in .177 with the Walnut stock option. I have been wanting to try these rifles out and see how good they really are. If they shoot as good as my B26-2's do I am sure I will be very happy.

Good for you! You got a great price for it to. Good deal, did you get a 177 or 22? I haven't done a whole heck of allot of shooting with mine yet but I can already see it will be a winner. Have fun with that thing and be very sure of you backstop! Mine shot right through a pressure treated 2 x 6 I was using as a backstop. I didn't notice until I saw splinters flying out from behind the 2 x 6. If you have a chrony tell us how it does.

Hey Silo, the CFX is a good shooter and most important, a very accurate shooter. I have three of them and they all are fantastic air rifles...:) I also own a Gamo 1250 Hunter Royal .22 and I would bet that it holds an edge on the 350 on FPE . Don't know about accuracy. It is out of the box stock with a GTX-III trigger. I don't shoot is very much because of it is so heavy and cocking is 58 pounds which tends to irritate my rotor cup.. lol

I got the .177 and I plan on getting a chrony asap.
I saw good deal on them at DNR and Rich has a way of unlocking the F1
so it displays all the string info..... although I might just get a Beta.
I also got a RWS 350 Mag yesterday (full price though) and it needs a scope
too. So I'll have to see how the finances go before getting the chrony.
